=AVG=Zombie Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Lets not forget the p-39........ future plans of course, a must have...
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 LOL!! Stop ..ur killing me...lol oh my...fly over here, land, fly over here land...bring the colonel his coffee yada yada. Ty its been done in 1946, on several mission designs. and I have flown a squadron of those JU52's on those capture the airfield missions in 1946.
GP* Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 You complain about people criticizing rhe fighter croud (which i havent seen im here) and yet do the same in a worse and oversarcastic manner...how constructive Therebare only fighters guys, that never dared to fly a bomber or anything else the size of one. Than there are pure "forniture van" pilots that demand at least 2 engines to get airborne. And there are, which probably is the biggest part, guys that fly.everything devs can offer due to great interest im aviation and their support for the devs. You cant point the finger at any of these groups and shou "your wishes are rubbish". That's not what the devs do anyway so you won't reccieve any attention by them. The Ju52 is a very popular airplane and just as well known as the Douglas DC-3. Theres nothing strange or uncommon with it. It's a combat sim, you probably agree on that. Real warfare has far more complexity than fighters flying from A to B.shooting down bad Ivans to get XP, the logistical part played an important role (and is the reason why the german defence collapsed at stalingrad). It's a pure matter of taste whether people like it or don't. If you love speedboats you probably dislike sail boats. Does it mean people who preferr sail boats shall not speak up but forced to buy speedboats? WOW things got out of hand while I slept. Everything I said was joking, and purely for entertainment purposes only. Perhaps my comments did not cross cultural lines very well. For the record, I welcome the addition of any plane, to any sim.
fergal69 Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Now How narrow minded is that? Go ask any Ju-52 Pilot if his "8 to 5" shift was Boring. I am sorry... But this is beyond me. You fly the slowest, Ugliest, most Outdated Transport piece of Schrott over the most evil terrain to supply the most Buttplugged part of the entire Wehrmacht with Goods. You got Fuel aboard. Ammo. Have fun surviving the Yaks. ah no you got a defense, right? the single MG up top, and maybe the Co will stand on his seat and shoot the one installed on the front canopy. Maybe you got a Bunch of OKW Kids aboard that break some windows and shoot with their MG-42 out the rear Window. Hearing them scream in agony, as the Russian 85mm shrapnell tears them to pieces is boring to you? How about that cargo, that suddenly slips aft... and the CG shifts... and the nose goes up... boring as fudgepie, all right. Your Mission states you need to land, taxi, wait for the Human Pieces of meat that you have for cargo today... You stand there in the middle of Nowhere, and the katyushas are Raining down on you... a few Hundred of the RS-82 like rockets, heading your way. and you sit there - no chance to escape. Flying the Ju-52 with no guns to shoot, no place to go took some nerve. and i bet a fiver that a LOT of us would just ragequit the Ju-52 missions, because of the utterly defensive and helpless position it would Put us. The Ju-52 would be a mental stresstest that half of us could not take for 10 missions in a row. The Joke is... the Ju-52 will stay AI only... guess you didn't know that. Whoops. Whilst not quite the Stalingrad experience, you can book flights in a Ju52 at http://www.dlbs.de/de/Ju-52-Rund-und-Streckenfluege/Ju-52-Flugplan.php

No601_Swallow Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 (edited) I have some elderly students who used to go up in a Tante Ju once a year sightseeing down the danube here in Vienna. (The oldest did his military service in the 1950s and his sergeant was an Ostfront veteran.) Edited December 6, 2014 by No601_Swallow

There's a 109F2, F4, etc. He looked at me like I was mad. Basically we all love aeroplanes, and most of us like to have an obscure favourite! We're hipsters! And when we were kids our friends looked at us oddly as we scratch-built sand filters for a 109 and special ordered decals to personalize Hans-Joheim Marsaille's a/c. And I still tell folks my first non-stuffed toy was a metal Mk.I Spitfire and then I sometimes add, "Could be a Mk.IIa." They never ask about the "Mark". They don't want to know.

dkoor Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Would like to see DC-3 at some point, it was used on VVS side even, so that crate would be extremely useful. Without checking, I suppose it was used in Bodenplatte too. Saw many theatres of action really. Even IJA used them; Such types are prime candidates for introducing in the game, yet they often get neglected even after we get more exotic fighter types. Their only crime is that they are not flashy and haven't "won the war"
