Direction indicator...again...and Pilot Commands

Some time ago, I commented on the Directional Indicator as seeming to be tied to the little dial on the lower left of the screen that shows wind direction. Some people replied that the gauge is not working or that it should not be working as no radio beacons were positioned on the ground at the waypoints. I can see that, but...how about making the dial always point to the home base? To make it realistic, perhaps have it unreliable until you are within say 30 miles of the home base...since there is no ability to input a radio beacon frequency, it could be slaved to the home base beacon...

Another thing...in the Campaign, I am at Operation Uranus...when I give commands to the wingmen, under F7...happened a couple of times...the command screen froze open and the ESC key would not function to let me clear the command screen. Seems to me that some of the commands do not work. Perhaps this could be checked?

Thanks...having a good time with the sim/game.

This is only a waypoint indicator, not related with Beacons.

Okay...if it is a waypoint beacon, why doesn't it point at the waypoints in the campaign?

I am talking about the gauge on the instrument panel, not the map.

The gauge for Radio Navigation on panel of some planes, RPK-10 in Russian and AFN-2 in German, point for the nearest radio Beacon antenna  - which has a range of about 250 KM - if was placed on map

Your initial post "... the Directional Indicator as seeming to be tied to the little dial on the lower left of the screen that shows wind directioninduced me to think  that was talking about the indicator in compass in  "digital"  Instrument Panel.

Anyway, if the mission have Beacon antenna and waypoints, will occur coincidence in indication of the instrument (RPK-10, AFN-2) and the waypoint indicator (orange "M") on the last leg of the route. But that's, just coincidence.
