How Did You Celebrate?

How did you celebrate your cool new founder's tag?

Mrs. Sarge and I went out for a nice brunch at The Spitfire Grill (not the famous one in Santa Monica, the one off the approach end of 34 Right in Reno).

I love the old pictures on the walls - guys crossing the Sierras in a Jenny in 1919 (!) plus some more appropriate pictures to go with the grill's namesake and other general aviation stuff.

The food is good to and fairly reasonable, with some fantastic potato pancakes and authentic tasting bangers that remind me of Manchester or Nantwich or somewhere.

Too bad we don't have a Messerschmidt Diner or a Yakolev Cafe or a Junkers Haus or something -- this was the best I could do.

I bought Rise of Flight ICE, studied Bob Vanderstock's Mission Editor videos on YouTube, learnt the principles of how triggers and events are used and made my first mission where the AI pilot fires a flare soon after takeoff and on his return to the airfield  triggers another aircraft to return home.

The RoF/BOS mission editor is miles ahead of the IL2 FMB. The creative possibilities are wild. Good times ahead ~

Just an usual saturday around here, some beach and beer and thats all :)

FlyingNutcase, if you have any question regarding RoF ME just ask away and will try to help out, and if I cant I will ask to SYN_Vander (Bob Vanderstock) to read your question or ask him myself.  Never touched IL2 FMB but the RoF/BoS ME has a lot of power, latelly I kinda have it abandoned, RL issues.

Also you could visit our forums here : http://syndicatesquadron.org/viewforum.php?f=11 and here in the future (when BoS get live): http://syndicatesquadron.org/viewforum.php?f=77

Well today was yard and pool work.

However last night, the wife and I went to our favorite Japanese Steakhouse, and it was so good yum!

I kept tabs on my calendar. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go see if it is October 1st, yet ...

Thanks Haashashin, there will be plenty of questions for sure but having taken a dip in the ME, I can only say that I'm hugely impressed and full of anticipation, while realising that there will be frustrating aspects to deal with too no doubt. Step by step...

Fed the horses and went out metal detecting with my son.....found some junk.......going to have a beer and wait for the Mrs to come home......I also have been flying some coop missions with my son, IL-2 Team Fusion Mod....He's ten, but he's getting the hang of it....

I decided to carry all the garbage bags down... - Nice empty bags all over the house now, ready to fill, great feeling.

Spent three hours mowing. Beautiful day.

I don't need a special occasion to feed our horses. (Rocky Mountains) They know when dinner time is and let me know too !

Now that's nice to hear. Good use of your time!

Me - I worked on artwork for the new retail version of ROF in Europe and the USA.

Funny that y'all say that.  My horse likes to feed the whole neighborhood.  If there are mares and foals around, he spreads his feed out through the fence and watches very proudly as the band's stallion looks on with disgust.  gonna get me in trouble with the Range Manager.  "Hear you are feeding wild horses?"  "No, *I'm* not, actually...."  These are from last winter....

A few times he has gotten out and carved out a band for himself, once merging 3 into one - his.  He was a very happy horse until I came to get him...

Cooked a Pavlova (my birthdy cake), made various sorts of sushi, mixed coctails (found 6 great Martini glasses at the op  shop), raved on and raged with my daughters 18-25 year old friends and played their music also my predomonantly 70s classics (Stones Zep Floyd Hendrix Van Morrisson Doors etc)  and even my wife came over (from her adjoining flat) and socialised way to long into the early hours. All for my 59th birthday. Consequently I woke up feeling 20yrs older than I am. Bummer I don't recouperate as well as I did in my earlier years.

Sounds good fun, Goanna - the first half anyway. Great to blow out like that sometimes.

The second half, yeah, I don't bounce back too quickly either.

As for me, I celebrated by... playing Mass Effect 2. It's quite good. I haven't played a non-flight sim game for ages.

Nice! I hoped to go for a 60km ride today but alas, theres a typhoon in the neighbourhood so thats not really an option.

I bought a bike last year to go to work. Now I'm hooked, doing 20-30km daily with longer rides when I can squeeze them in. Such good fun and you exercise as you do it. I only have a Giant cross bike as I didn't know if I'd be that interested in cycling, but Yup - I am! Looking at roadbikes but I do quite a few steep hills, so I'm not sure if I should get one.

Smoked a cigar while having a glass of cognac, gave the housekeeping a day off, rescued few kittehs and bought myself new Aston Martin to maintain the "I feel superb" mood.

Bathed my daughter, put my daughter and wife to sleep, cancelled pub crawling with my former boss, finished and tested MS spadegrip (FFB2 with pad strapon for two-handed control), started learning about prop pitch control, they didn't have them in RoF...

Went to my PC to see my dad, who came over with mum for a few days, flying 46 and later ROF. Shown him the

videos and yeah, he is still a flight sim fan.

I seemto not have been allocated my gold tag even though I purchased my premium edition, not really worrying about the tag but am wondering if my order is valid, even though Paypal shows the transaction as going through on Aug 22.

Posibly need a PM clarification from the 'Powers that Be'

regards Paul

Am I having a 'seniors moment' or did I read that you have to activate or something?

Edited by Goanna1

Played through Mass Effect 2 as well and I agree it's quite good and playable with the various characters interacting
