An Aleutian Islands campaign, obviously...  ;)

Seriously, I'll settle for whatever comes next - which I'd think is most likely to be more on the Eastern Front.

what's up with the whispers?... I am nearsighted ya know! :).. it's almost like you want to make a point in regards to the discussion about draw distance :)

The whole internet shouting thing is silly to say the least.

I always took ETO during WWII to mean the European Theater of Operations. In my readings I've not run across anything meaning the Russian Front in that regard. Is that strictly an American measurement of the theater? Even looking at National Geographic magazines from the war years don't seem to consider the war in Russia as part of the ETO.

Afrika !  Mid war, complete with Camels

No can do, Camels are RoF only.

I've been crying out for the Spanish Civil War and the Khalkin-Gol Incident since day one IL-2! SCW was done quite nicely in Luftwaffe Commander.

Hmmm! This was my first post on the new BoS forum and I expected to see a gold Founders tag as I have pre ordered the Premium edition. How do I get my gold tag?

Well even though we have had this poll once before in the poll page,

I voted for north Africa, as it has never been done before. It is the new

things that keep sims alive than just sticking to the main stream stuff.

I personally favor very much the early war aircraft, as there is a greater challenge.

As runner up theatres, would be in my case the norweigain campagne as that also has never

been done before,  the spanish civil war and the Sino Japanese war which started 1937.

As these theaters offer many aircraft that have never before been seen in sims before,

and can be that pinch of salt in the soup, to keep people coming for seconds.

Problem with a med/NA sim would be the map size in my opinion. Which part of that theater would you envision they covered? I would think they would need a series of maps to cover it all.

Bah, I would like to see all theatres of ww2 hehe...but fighting in hellcats and wildcats...zeros...landing on carriers....would be immersive.....with this engine...

Since a couple of years there are several SCW maps (by Agracier and RedeyeJir), planes, skins and missions in modded IL2.

Also a Khalkin Gol map (by Mixx) is available.

Oh right! I haven't flown IL-2 since RoF has been on my PC, let alone modded it. Might have to give it another look but I think it might be a backward step.

True, and using it for eastern front also was a momentary lapse of reason from my part.

I'm not sure why but this theater holds absolutely no interest to me.

I voted for Early War, Med theatre but Mid War in the Med works for me too!

Any theatre involving the P39 !

Late war Eastern Front would be great. Fw190D, La-7, Yak-9, Yak-3 ,etc. Also mid war Eastern Front with a Kursk campaign with Hs-129, and ground attack missions for both sides. They also should be able to get these up and running with less work using BoS as a starting point.  Pacific theater would be great too, but would require a lot more work and would be a good project longer term.

I'd love a mid/late war era (around 1944), located on either Western Front or Eastern.

I'm not really concerned about the theater; I mostly want to see planes that operated during that timeframe (Ju-188, Me-410, Bf-109G-6/14/10, long nose Fw-190s on the Axis side - Yak-3/9, Pe-3 on the Allies side).

I'd also love some Nachtjagd material.

the Mediteran scenario around Tobruk is very nice!

one of my favourites, and similar planeset on the german side, so it would be a quick step after BoS ;-)

Like many I am happy with what I am given.

But for me the most interesting part of the war was the 1944/45 period on the eastern front because with the Germans on the defensive and the Soviets on equal terms with them it is fun like IL2 for me has proven it.

Like others have said, I am up for anything. I am hoping that this product will be successful and eventually the entire war will be covered, like with IL2 1946.  The quality of this sim appears to be outstanding and I will be grateful for whatever comes next.

After 6 months flying in Russia´s winter??...Med, Italy..you know, some summer and sun

I'd love the Malta-Sicily-Tunisia area. If extended, then North Africa from Tunisia to Egypt as well.

I second that, Sir!

As long as that theatre is Eastern Front

The idea of a North Africa scenario makes me drool.

Actually, it's anything but the snow. The team did a great job and is going to give us a nice sim, it's not their fault at all, it's just me: I find snow scenarios boring after a while. Country fields, mountains, even the sea match better with my personal tastes.

And North Africa sounds terribly good.

That come sfrom the classical issue of defining where russia is. Is it in europe? Is in in Asia?  Since russia is larger than  any of the 2 continents when you exlcude russia from them, both   seems  strange:P

As a friend of mine once said.. Russia is just there... and Europe and Asia  hang attached to it.... orbiting the most massive body of the hemisphere :P

I'm not sure why but this theater holds absolutely no interest to me.

Same,  pacific is  such for me than  I usually leave on Il2 servers when map rotates to pacific. Only plane in pacific  theather i like is the corsair, because is so much style...

You can get a tan in the Crimean or Kuban just fine.

Crimea and Kuban 1943 please.

Crimea and Kuban were my favourites in ADW :)

I would go for Spanish civil war (not that common in flight sims, it seems, but could be very interesting...) or North Africa  :salute:

As everyone knows, the Cliffs of Dover brought many disappointments at all.

I hope that in the future, this great and promising team do something to assuage the grief of many who hoped to fly the battle of britain.

I voted Early Western Theatre- mostly due to the French were still in the fight. And having the Western map done would make later eras easier to roll out for 777.

I do agree that the Mediterranean would be awesome (mostly because my beloved Italian planes get to take the stage) and a pretty rare treat. In the end, I imagine 777 does what it thinks will bring the most money in for further development, period.

I do feel it's about time to see a brand new setting and the Mediterranean is the only important one still missing.

And a late war setting to see the latest Italian fighters as well as the fight over the boot.
