Hey Chief - maybe if you could spell your name right you would find it?     

 

Did they really just create another big hoohah problem trying to fix the old one, or does it just seem that way?  Why not just let people create whatever name they want for their MP profile(s)?  Why make it tied to their Forum names or anything in particular?

I cant change it because someone has a forum account with what my ingame name was. Thanks devs.

 

So instead of letting people choose what name they fly under ingame your forcing people to make a new login name / new ingame name.

Ok, if it IS possible to change the name at will AND it propogates into the online world then I retract my previous criticism and say: THANK YOU!

You can't have two people online with the same name (how would the stats be recorded) so this does make sense. The stats can be hidden according to the options on the profile page.

Unfortunately, not quite so funny when you were allocated "phoenix" by Ubisoft in about 2003...

Though I'm sure quite a few were earlier than me.

 

So, maybe I'll stay 56RAF_phoenix, I could never quite understand having a nick that didn't include the squad name as well.

Personally I think the stats as they are are meaningless. They are for all a/c and probably fine for gamers. They would be more meaningful if they could be reset for a particular to enable paper campaigns to be played for serious simmers who want stats for their current pilot.

 

Also completed campaign stats are meaningless once all the unlocks and chapters are done and one flies directly home without having to grind through the exit point.

My campaign stopped counting the completed missions after the first six.  So now it shows I finished the whole campaign, unlocked everything, got all the medals, and only had 6 successful missions.

Best I can remember it was around November 10th or 11th.  But my stats haven't been counting correctly for a while.  It seems like my successful missions and my hours flown were reset to zero at one point.  After that it only counted 6 missions.  I can fly one right now and it still won't tally the successful mission.  Didn't really matter to me at the time because the unlocks were working. 

 

Eg. 10th or 11th when I unlocked all the planes, I have no idea when I finished the campaign in total.  A few weeks before?????

Had a similar thing happen to me, it was the beginning of nov I think. It deleted how many sorties and how many successful flits I had but kept the other info. It made me look better thou lol like 25 air and 30 ground kills in 6 flights and 1hour

Unfortunately we cannot assign you a name "Phoenix" because it is being used on another account.

 

We can offer you the following options:

- try to discuss the issue with the owner of the name "Phoenix"

- add to the name of the "Phoenix", any valid character. For example "hyphen-minus" (as in your email "Phoenix-")

 

Talking with the person will be hard, because he create his account and never post on the forum (things i don't want because it's not my fault if i lost my nickname).

Adding any number, noway.

I was one of the people whom put there real name down so it helped me but I do really feel for the people that did not want it changed. This has been handled quite poorly. Like someone posted they have imaged to help a few a piss off the masses. I think they should revert back if possible and issue a new serial code for the effect people

I think this is a "Notlösung" (don't find a good match at the moment) In my case I'am good so far. I'm sure developers are working on a better solution.

Edit: Got it to take (3rd attempt). Apparently my former name (Jarhead) was taken while I was fooling around trying to recover it.

It is probably you in your first and second attempt... Try your password on them.

Note that your campaign stats are public by default.. and everyone can check your stats by your forum name. You can make them private in your Account Settings.

 

Since there are some folks who seem to think my stats are important enough for them to comment on elsewhere I made my stats private.. why are they hidden from me? I would think that if I made them private .. unviewable to the public .... I would still be able to see them.

The stats page is a nice feature. Interestingly, it shows what I've destroyed but does not credit my successful missions, it still shows 0. Nothing to lose sleep over however.

Verry nice, one thing I should add are the plane used in the campaign I think, I am sure I did not, use all type of planes during the campaign.

To be honest, the stat system that the BF server in il2 1946 had was quite good (until people hacked it....).

It told you (and others that viewed your profile), you K/D ratio, who you killed the most, who killed you the most, and other various stats, which gave some an added incentive to play more realistically (disciplined etc).


On the whole while interesting, I don't for the most part check out other players stats, I mostly remember names from prev engagements (vaguely atm, but was quiet good at remembering names in il2 1946).


Perhaps there should be 2 stats, one for campaign, the other for online??
