kiershar Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Kinda sad for the dev who made all those nice menu sound effect and music, we have to turn them all off or else we get plagued with contant beeping in game. And that's on top of the AI ground control and teamates spamming the radio like schoolchildrens! Beep beep. Target destroyed. Beep beep. Target destroyed. Beep beep. Target destroyed. Beep beep. Target destroyed. Beep Marabou do this. Beep beep. Marabou do that. Beep Beep. Marabou, your shoe-laces are untied. Does anybody actually like the beeping?
Zettman Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 S! I totally agree, the music is great, the constant log beeping is not. Zettman
SharpeXB Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 You know DCS sometimes beeps when you destroy a target.
Yakdriver Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 yeam me too think it was a kind of "not so good idea"
M4rgaux Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) DCS isn't a good example, It always insult me... "over G, over G, over G…" Edited November 25, 2014 by M4rgaux
SharpeXB Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 DCS isn't a good example, It always insult me... "over G, over G, over G…"The cockpit voice is authentic I believe. But in some missions there's actually a "beep" target destroyed! Hogs on the Prowl! Message. Does that make DCS-A10C an arcade game?! Hmmm.

WindyCityZeke Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I have the in game sound set at 57% or something like that and my earphones set at Max. I don't really hear the beep's at all, in fact I have to listen real hard to hear them.

Another arcadish step...
simplyjames Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Yeah I like the menu sounds but in game having a sci fi noise forces me to turn it off.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Beebs bad, menu sounds good. Would be nice to turn beebs off with out turning off menu dounds 1

Urra Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 First thing it reminded me of was my blasted little $5 plastic alarm clock.
BraveSirRobin Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 If you don't like the beeping you should shut it off. 1
Livai Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Deinstall your graphic driver and Sound driver after a reboot reinstall the newest one. If it still happends maybe a Road Runner is inside. Edited November 25, 2014 by Superghostboy
SharpeXB Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Why does it beep? That makes no sense oO You've got issues... I don't think anyone will argue that DCS is not a simulator. Yet it sometimes (must depend on mission design) beeps and has in game screen messages like "Way to fly that thing" Honestly on Expert there should be no indication of destroying a target other than what you can see. Cliffs of Dover has too many screen messages too that give you information a real pilot wouldn't have. It's a good challenge to resist the urge to follow a target down. RoF doesn't have kill messages in SP
6high Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Who the heck came up with that beeping-idea and most importantly..WHY? I am at a loss here...

71st_AH_Mastiff Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 yes I have windows il-2 sound at 50%, I do not hear the beeping also. highest sound settings.
BraveSirRobin Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Who the heck came up with that beeping-idea and most importantly..WHY? I am at a loss here... Probably the same person who added the prompt on the Sound Settings screen that allows you to shut it off.
wellenbrecher Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Folks said it does shut off more than just the beeping though. yes I have windows il-2 sound at 50%, I do not hear the beeping also. highest sound settings. Interesting. Have you tried with full sound? Maybe it's a bug and only some folks get it. I mean that would actually be a sensible reason for the beeping to be there in the first place. BraveSirRobin Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Folks said it does shut off more than just the beeping though. Such as?
wellenbrecher Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Read the thread you're posting in? "Maybe it's a bug and only some folks get it. If you do not get the beep you're probably the best person to test it. That could make sure it's a bug or not, short of a dev answers, but who knows if they would ever answer to a question about it. SharpeXB Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Way to miss the point. If it's ok for DCS to beep then it's good enough for BoS
BraveSirRobin Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Read the thread you're posting in? OK, I see the posts about menu sounds. I'll probably quit playing the game until they fix this.
wellenbrecher Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 OK, I see the posts about menu sounds. I'll probably quit playing the game until they fix this. Yay, hyperbole and wilfully misunderstanding the intent. Man, the BoS forums are beautiful at times... It's a silly decision and annoying to people. Can we agree on that? That's all the OP said. Having to mute all menu sounds because of this silly thing would be a bit of a shame. Can we agree on that? And then there's folks saying they do not get the sound so maybe it's even a bug that folks found. Can we agree on that? No reason to try to add drama to it because someone found a slight problem with your favourite baby... If it's ok for DCS to beep then it's good enough for BoS What? oO It shouldn't beep in either, and why should DCS be the scale to measure BoS by all of a sudden? 1

More than likely an FMOD bug in the IL-2 code. I dont think its a FMOD bug in the IL-2 code. If someone have WT installed use their FMOD with IL-2? Just a crazy Idea to testing if after replace it still beep? I think its more a Driver problem. I had a similar long ago problem with a beep. Started a game beep beep and playing the same beep beep sounds like if someone would plug in and plug out a usb-stick everytime. At every game happends. Only a completely graphic driver deinstall and reinstall fixed the problem. BTW Sound goes through HDMI.
SharpeXB Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Sharpe, are you in the payroll? No. I just don't feel the need to post a 30-page negative rant about every small aspect of the game.
DD_bongodriver Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 nearly as bad as a 30 page gushfest when you really want to see outstanding problems being addressed. 3

Afwastus Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Can we have a plane mounted radar to go with the beeps? And sidewinder missiles?
