I really like it! That's all really.

The sound of the welder, distant gunfire and the excellent score go very well together!

No, the more I listen to it, I actually love the music (wish it was looped, though)!

I find it kind of "meh" to be honest. Not that it's bad, but it doesn't seem to have anything that stands out. I would've preferred something a bit more WW2-esque like the old MoH theme.

Yeah that's good. And MoH Airbore too. I got it on CD with the boxed set.

The music is fine, but the 'ringtone'...

Agree, the ringtone when in game messages are posted is pretty distracting.

It isn't exactly Civ IV, but I'll take what I can get.

MoH sounds very American (I have a Sherman tank in mind when I hear it) so imho does not fit to a game that focuses on Eastern front.

Maybe something more classical like

If we are listing themes, I always liked the Bridge at Remagen theme.

One of these would be good for the Soviet screen but we'd need something for the German side too.

In a generic sense, the current music is......uh.......ok.

So who is going to pass the hat around to collect the mega bucks required to acquire the rights to use the above music? Nobody? Ok then.

Gee... we need to feel bad for having an opinion now? I find the menu theme uninspired... so what? Having a good menu theme is not necessarily proportional to the amount of money you pour into it. Artistic flair comes in all sorts of flavour.

Just look at Konstantsin Kuzniatsou  , also known as "BTD". His music is brilliant and I'm pretty sure he is not costing ED mega bucks. Just listen to his theme for the Mi-8... https://soundcloud.com/btd/soundtrack-for-dcs-mi-8 I mean, it's an inspired theme that has a distinct identity.

BTD has a certain touch with music that I find very interesting.

It's pretty good... I'm glad that they have added the background sound effects and now the music is a good addition too. It's not quite memorable yet but maybe it will be after a while. I like it! Menu sound clicks are not bad either. Good to see things continue to be refined!

I'm looking forward to modding the welding sound and epilepsy inducing flashes out of the game at the earliest opportunity.

I just get the welder and the gunfire... no music. Life is hard on the Russian front... :)

Bit harsh...

Lol Andy... it's classic, but awful :)

I rapidly changed my old IL2 music files to something more appropriate as soon as I could, usually nation specific!

I will mod to original il2 music once and if this game lives up to it. U gota love but hate that old tune

Sorry, but I just 'have to' teach you, what IS a good music, LOL

Of all the features mentioned...I'd like to be able to drop in my own music and customize to my own liking....Just give us a folder and let us handle music....no copyright....no problem.  But I know this is not possible for compatibility reasons I would suppose....  I mean personally...as my 109 is approaching headon with VVS aircraft...my audio  would say...."You gonna grab those pistols, or whistle dixie".....:)

Not to bring up an old thread, but I would love to do some new music for Sturmovik as I did with Rof and Woff.  I've been looking for something fun to score on the side, this would be awesome!

What did you do for RoF? I don't know the development history of that series that well..

Can we listen in?

Yeah I know, I'm a bad person but I needed a way in.  I love those old German marching songs. Always feel like standing to attention when I hear them - for reasons I don't fully understand.

Anywhoo .....   I still think a rousing rendition of Erika would be a great way to start the game.

Try Settings > Sound > Turn off Interface Sounds and turn off Menu Music.

If you want.

I like it on personally :D

I Did a few tracks for pat Wilson's campaign generator.  After WOFF was released, ROF fans were wondering if a similar score could be done for them, I was happy to oblige.

It was only a short score, but Pat was pleased with what he got.

I would gladly do some new music for some of the IL2 games, if folks would be interested.  Maybe a couple of suites to get us started, see how it goes.

I haven't had the chance to listen to your older works, but the offer sounds interesting nonetheless :)

My in-game music is turned off because I can't hear people on TeamSpeak over it, however I would say they did a good job. It has a ring of adventure to it, and it evokes the call to the air without necessarily sounding like a war song.

It would be nice to see some actual war songs incorporated though. There are so many powerful songs from the time, yet there is a certain vicious insistence on orchestra tunes in war games and movies as well.

This is one of my favourites, originally from a 1961 film:
