Personal Weapon

Was checking controls and saw that there are options for shooting and removing the personal weapon/flare gun.

 

Somehow the option for taking that weapon in the hand I cannot find in options.

 

Anyone knows?

i set it up to

ctrl+1 for green flare

ctrl+2 for red flare

and

ctrl+3 for white flare.

ctrl+. for shooting

and

ctrl+0 to put the gun away.

 

no, there is no Walter PPK or Tokarev or something like that. it is a Flare gun for communications.

I noticed it seems to work automatically as well when you order your squad to RTB. Or at least it did in the IL-2. I haven't tried in the other aircraft yet.

yup, issuing orders also leads to shooting flares.
Notice you have 3 shots per color if you shoot yourself - the cartridges/shells are visible, (or not, after being used) inside the cockpits.

In RoF they actually have pistols can be used in flight. I guess they have limited use in a WWII-setting.
