SharpeXB Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 Running this mission, screenshots attached, the game will crash every time. It will crash faster with Nvidia DSR enabled but will still crash also when set to 1080x1920 I'm using the autopilot to run the test missions. This is with a fresh re-install of BoS made this same day. uninstalling and re-installing did not fix the problem.
voncrapenhauser Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Just recently, I get a crash after about 1/2 hour of play sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, but no reason given. Just simply returns to desk top, and tells me BOS has stopped working.......Which I can already can see. Seems I can't even finish a single mission, since Air bridge had unlocked I think......HELP! No message displayed to say what problem is. This happens on every mission type. Thought it was steam advertising, so I start steam first and close start and add screen......seems no difference. I'm running full screen on ultra settings, was running absolutely fine and this problem has been creeping in since last update. I'm lost for a soulution honestly. SilentHunter Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I don't understand why this frikkin games keeps crashing since I downloaded the first beta version!! It used to happen every once in a while, so I just let it be. Today i had one of my best realism / fun to play campain missions and right before i'm about to shoot down a damn russian, the Whole game crashes like the plaens i just shot down!!!! IT PISSED ME OFF SO MUCH that i really had to write something on this forum, even though it will probably go unnoticed. I really like this game, but the bugs it has, jeez.. not impressed at all... after all these continous downloads/updates/fixes... they manage to never solve the good old stupid crashes that are Always impossible to figure out the reasons!! This stuff should've happened in 2004, not 2014!!! get your developers on the job and please deliver a game that is going to give no problem at all..In the end, we're talking about 25min missions (in realism mode), that go completly down the toilet. This is not War Thunder, this is not call of duty, where games are easy to get in and out... il2 is a game for people with patience, but patience ends at some point if we go on like this...
SharpeXB Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) I unchecked Full Screen and have been running crash free ever since. I then unchecked Full Screen in every other game, Call of Duty AW, Battlefield 4 and they run SO much better! Maybe give that a try. Full Screen is not needed if you are running your monitors native resolution. I had FS set because I was running Nvidia DSR, notice my in game res is higher than 1080x1920 Edited December 12, 2014 by SharpeXB
Zjahna Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Thanks Sharpe, I will give this a try. Also more stable at 50 FPS

EZ-PICKINS Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I just discovered why my IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad kept crashing every time I played. I had one of my key command buttons assigned to too many task. Also watch for multiple key commands that conflict. I reconfiguerd my keys and the crashing stopped !!!
SharpeXB Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 I have discovered through much testing that cause of my game crashes, here and elsewhere, is unstable over-clocking on my CPU. The best remedy is to just replace and upgrade.
gdeschodt Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 (edited) D3D crash - almost all german missions 1/2 way though. Less frequent in british missions but could be luck. Latest Nvidia drivers as of 1/11/2022 yesterday. Card is RTX 3070 on Win11. Everything in systray stopped to avoid interference. UAC disabled. ero changes to graphic options, default everything. Sound continued to work, D#D error dialog (OK OK K) and eventually it bombs out to desktop.
