dario Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Hi, the french (and great) magazine Canard PC has write his test. Just two pages. Final note is 6/10 with this conclusion : "l2 battle of Stalingrad has everything to become the new and undisputed reference for the simulation of air combat. This rough diamond may become the successor to the venerable il2 Sturmovik 2001, but first you'll have to prune: eliminating aberrations modeling and integrate basic features, such as the editor, private servers and modding who have specifically allowed to keep his ancestor so long form. That day, we'll talk. Meanwhile, it takes more of a demonstration of potential flanked by a forgettable solo content and a system of farming xp whose presence is about as relevant as a sex toy in a confessional." Cheers 6
soupdragon Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 LOL. I love the confessional reference :D SD
jeanba Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Yes, it is the "canard PC humor". But indeed, always the same critics
SvAF/F19_Klunk Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) EDIT: maybe not so clever remark from me... Edited November 19, 2014 by SvAF/F19_Klunk
Bussard_x Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 If they talk about a rough diamond why only 6/10 ? Does not make sense to me.
AndyHill Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 If you review the game in its current form with extremely basic multiplayer and no mission editor you get a bad score even without considering the other controversial factors. I think BoS is a textbook example of a game that has immense potential ready to be unleashed, but is held back by some rather basic things. 2
von_Greiff Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 If they talk about a rough diamond why only 6/10 ? Does not make sense to me. ...a rough diamont has only a pretty little value until it gets his facettes!
johncage Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 to parrot the customization issue, we need graphics options pronto 1
III/JG11_Tiger Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 (edited) The problem is we are locked into doing a fairly uninteresting and slightly bugged campaign to unlock things in a multiplayer that at the moment has no dserver and we still have no FMB either so the score is pretty well on the mark, lets not forget the original started much the same and ROF was much worse, given time Im sure this will become the diamond they speak of, as long as the devs drop some of their seeming stubborness, really its well and truly time to remove the unlocks and in doing so remove one of the major copmplaints in this sim and also the graphics presets, these two things will help with the sales they need, the other stuff will come given time and enough sales, imo. Anw.StG2_Tyke Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 If they talk about a rough diamond why only 6/10 ? Does not make sense to me. What do you expect? Oh its a rough diamond, instant 8/10? Get back to reality, nobody can get anything from the "potential" the game has. Because hell we don't know if this potential will ever be used. This review is pretty well on the spot. Get away from this, oh this game has potential and its a CFS so we must give it good scores... thats not how the system works or should work.
