6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 So It's almost impossible to do SP Campaign in it (I'm suffering through) and I can't do anything, they'll just headon me before I get into range or can even proplerly identify them. Also I can't order my wingman to attack the other fighter. So I can never fight one but have to for both and never shoot one down.
J2_Trupobaw Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Few thoughts, if you are doing campaign for sake of grinding. As soon as you get bombs, consider grinding by ground attack missions. Destroy trucks or raid artillery positions, they rarely have air cover. Raid airfields, you can just hit any target and you are done. Yak is supposed to be low altitude escort plane, you don't need kills for escort missions to succeed, just make sure your bombers get away, feed your wingmen to wolves and run for exit point. Finally, there are no unlocks for Yak that make it better fighter, only bombs and radio navigation. Little point to grind with it. 2
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 It takes 2 pilots to choose a head-on... But AI..come on now.
Gambit21 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 But AI..come on now. Come again? It's impossible to engage in a head-on with the AI or anyone unless you're trying for that.
Yakdriver Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 i recommend trupobaw's advice.being a mudmover myself, i am always looking for a way to help a fellow soldier.109's are occasional ly my target, or a heinkel. but i never step into the cockpit to hunt. only to defend.Tactical warfare all the way. for strategic stuff there is Mustangs and superfortresses :D
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 getting the bombs is hard enough with like 20XP per mission.
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Come again? It's impossible to engage in a head-on with the AI or anyone unless you're trying for that. Yes, but the AI always HO's. Shouldn't they do something else other than that? I duck, dive and dodge and dive again to avoid the HO. Every time its the same..any mission you're in. It gets old I guess, oh there's the bad guy up ahead he's going to HO me, I might want to turn now.

1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Oh, OT but Cheers on the simHQ spot, Gambit!
avlSteve Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) I very rarely fool with a head on vs. fighters. It only happens if I think I'm chasing the target and realize I'm gaining on him too fast. If that happens, I shoot early and change direction. Edited November 16, 2014 by avlSteve
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I hate to say it but I gamble once in awhile with the HO's but only on the 13th day of a 6 week month.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 i generally find that if u are a good yak v a good 109 it will always be headons if the yak had lower energy. U may want to get used to fake headons or running

6./ZG26_5tuka Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Same rule for SP and MP: mlnever go head on. If your enemy engages you try to pull over in a roll or dive to make it impossible for him to hit, than pull back up behind him amd turn the fight to your favour. That said Ais always have their wekanesses. Once you perform certiananouvres they cant follow you can manage to confuse them, forcing them to climb up again or just straight ahead. I've dealt with some ais in my Lagg-3 already and the Yak os certainly way better in this regard.
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 I've noticed some NVFL in many AI Fighters however, friendly as well as enemies.
jarg1 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I've noticed that when I set up a 1-1 quick mission with a Veteran AI opponent, I have to pull some pretty hard maneuvers on the merge to avoid getting hit. The AI shooting is much better than mine
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) They do feel a tiny bit OP at the time. Especially the Gunners. Edited November 18, 2014 by myfabi94
avlSteve Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 And the next thing you know, well this is a head on, isn't it?
