Posted (edited)

this is a work in progress to help out a new player that asked me for some help

when its done, ill upload the Finished it would help all new players that dont have headtracking yet.

you will need some things to make your Headtracking device:

-PS3EYE camera (or other webcam with High FPS)

-3 point IR clip (ill be showing you how to make it)

-OpenTrack (https://www.dropbox....Zf-I4vnp1a?dl=0)

You will need to buy 3 IR LEDs for you clip (wide angle) or if you cant get wide angle ones, you get normal 5mm LEDs and cut them like this

Then you need to solder the 3 LEDs (in-line) with a 270 Ohm resistor Like the following image shows.

The USB wiring goes Like this....

Basically it is not necessary to cut of the top part of the red LED lights.

You can buy flat ones in the shop.

Freetrack is not working with BOS and Freetrack's development is dead but their website still has a lot of info about creating your own 3 points clip.

Which might be usefull for OpenTrack I presume.

huh, i did not know that, good to know!! :D

Also, i recommend using IR (infra-red) leds Because RED leds are visible to human eyes and you probablly dont want some christamas lights next to your face XD

Have to say that OpenTrack is very confusing compared to Freetrack.

I've seen quite some topics about OpenTrack here at BOS: a link to the (vague) site of OpenTrack, do this, do that, here is a download link, here is another link, these are the settings, an updated version of OpenTrack, let's wait for the next version.

A labyrinth.
