Padocks on options

Hello all, I did a search for this and came up with a lot of locked threads! So sorry if its already been answered.

I notice a lot of options have padlocks on them are these for future releases? Or do I need to buy them? I'm not that savvy with the steam but does it have something to do with the achievement patches? Do I need to trade something?

I would really like to just fly but these things are driving me nuts!

padlocks on options.
on what options? Bombs, guns n stuff?
you get XP points for flying single player campaign missions.

when you have enough experience on a certain plane, you get the options that are currently padlocked.

also see , in the game there is your profile page for more information on how much experience you have with each plane.

Thank you Hawker, I read through the forums some more and found this out. Honestly this was the last thing I expected from a flight simulator, a little dissapointed but I guess this is how the younger gamers enjoy themselves. At least there still is an interest in history
