pilotpierre Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I think these are musts for single players attempting a pencil and paper DiD campaign (even if it has to be after an aircraft is fully unlocked and all 5 scenarios are completed.) If you are for this a simple +1 will suffice. Hopefully enough people will respond to generate som action from the Devs. 21
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 +1, but annoyed at having to work around the game to have a single player campaign.
Y-29.Silky Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I don't care for it, but it'll help the single player community greatly with immersion!+1A question is, how would they be able to add this as I don't think they're willing to just add a "Reset" button. I think a good way to implement this is once you've finished your compaign, get all your unlocks, etc, etc... You are then able to restart the campaign, resetting your stats, but keeping your pilot level and unlocks. Choosing a pilot level, I'm not so sure about that one, or if it's a good idea.
39bn_pavig Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 The best solution would be if there were multiple pilot profiles per account, or multiple "careers". That way a player could start a new virtual career and play the whole war for a single plane, or RP campaign that way. Or a family member/friend/flatmate could fly their own campaign without being punished. 1
unreasonable Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I have given a +1 Clearly there should be distinct pilot profiles the player can control. Having said that, I have recently started a new DiD p'n'p campaign (although I am at level 8-9) and the action seems to be dictated more by the chapters than by the pilot level, although with so many variables and lack of documentation it is hard to say.
pilotpierre Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Well I have just spent a couple of hours at level 10 playing 6 or 7 Full Experienced missions and did not make it home once and scored a total of 8 points trying to do the last of the unlocks on the Stuka. The challenge has gone is now just a seemingly impossible drag so i have reverted to normal missions on Auto at 2x to get the ¥€£%# unlocks out of the way for this bird. The only one left will then be the HE111 and I dont think I will even bother trying to unlock that even on auto. Unless we get the ability to select pilot level I will probably go back to QMB until there is a meaningful campaign. 1

I ask because my new 109 career, currently in chapter 2, is still getting escorts with no opposition, or single unescorted Pe2 intercepts from time to time, so the enemy numbers seem to be more chapter related than level related.
pilotpierre Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 I normally start off with the first and then just progress through them in each succesive mission. I think the pilot level has the biggest bearing on the chances of survival. I'll go and give the stuka another go on Full Experience in the first chapter and see what happens.
pilotpierre Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) Talk about Sod's law. I played the first chapter Full Experienced (albeit 2x there and back). No AA nor enemy a/c so you may have a point about chapters also having a bearing on survivability. However, I was half way between exit point and home when I got the first CTD for several days, ergo no points. Giving it another go on 2x Full Experienced now. Edited November 14, 2014 by pilotpierre
pilotpierre Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Nope, got shot down by enemy a/c while attacking the vehicle column. Thats it for today, nearly 4 hours for 20 points, I'm taking my ball and going home. I'll go and do the crypic crossword instead.

I'd love to vote for the petition but honestly my patience has run thin. I want this whole experience leveling stuff to be abolished completely. No-more work rounds, I think the communities patience has been quite remarkable! We all want a good experience but this whole carrot on a stick thing does not working well with this type of game. They might as well have just made a slightly more realistic rehash of War Thunder and called it a different name so to not leave people confused to what they're purchasing. Mainstay Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 +1 I also want to chose difficulty level or the ability to reset the campaign
unreasonable Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I forgot to say 1 down has 6 letters, how many in 1 across?
unreasonable Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Forget it, 1 across has 5 letters, took me a while because I wanted it to be "woodpecker", but that obviously isn't right. Anyway, this cannot be 1 across from the same crossword, because 1 down does not start with "p"!
TCSEllis Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I still have not played the game much since the unlock system has been implemented, As I was expecting a full reset on release.. But I agree They need to do something.
Baldric Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 +1 from me. Additionally I'd like to see the option of more SP profiles too.
Goanna1 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 +1 good idea-- multiple profiles would be great as in PWCG
DrDag Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 + 1 from me too And while we are at the campaign: Maybe proper squadrons attached to the different airfields. I'd love to know which unit I am flying with. And maybe add coop to the campaign, the random mission generation is nice for small coop groups of 2 - 4 cheers, Dag
Dakpilot Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 The ability to play/host the generated campaign missions as small co-ops would be a great addition, especially if there were just a few bug fixes for some of the AI "routines" Cheers Dakpilot
Grancesc Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 +1 Here my support. It's realy getting to hard after level 8. S!
AndyHill Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 What should I vote for if my opinion is that the entire idea of a "pilot level" that affects campaign difficulty needs to be removed yesterday? The campaign difficulty needs to be determined by two things: 1) The campaign setting and your previous success in it. I don't really know what kind of plans there are for continued development of the campaign system, but hopefully there's a chance we get this at some point. 2) A difficulty setting option. You know the easy, medium, hard thing. Doom had it, btw. Not really hopeful about this since it's an option and those are something we absolutely must never have. Ever.
=69.GIAP=RADKO Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) I'm not sure if everyone fully understands why they've added an experience unlock system but I'm afraid having a system to avoid grinding will be a no go for the developers as it contradicts their business model. I appreciate what guys are trying to do with the petition but I'm afraid if they decided to fulfill your request they might as well avoid the grind all together a remove the unlocking. If you wanted to make a serious impression a petition to remove the unlocking all together would at least reinforce their awareness of how much most of us dislike it. Albino Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 +1 to resetting stats and unlocks when beginning a new SP Campaign. Of course those unlocks should still be available for multiplayer. Regards Albino
dkoor Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I like the idea. Because the more options, the better.
dburne Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) So out of curiosity, what is the highest level one powers up ( er levels up) too? MS Flight was 20... Edited November 16, 2014 by dburnette
pilotpierre Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 So out of curiosity, what is the highest level one powers up ( er levels up) too? MS Flight was 20... 10, I'm there and it is a bitch, bloody hard to make it home. As stated before, imo pilot level does not belong in a flight sim, too gamey.
LLv34_Flanker Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 (edited) S! Why not make it that each plane having their own pilot levels/XP etc.? This way you could fly all the campaign chapters in one plane, if so desiring, and get the unlocks and whatever pilot level in the process. This way you could play the campaign as you wish without the pilot level affecting it, at all. Separate for every plane. Edited November 28, 2014 by LLv34_Flanker

-TBC-AeroAce Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I had a random idea that might satisfy all. They could create a kinda mirror of the game, let's call it "no xp mode", that when u log in it does not communicate stats or progression with the servers and in this mode every thing is set to be unlocked but it will be sp only. That way u can choose to do both and most importantly it would not effect there current plan drastically
