It seems that the ESC key still not always will work to get out of the sim or back to the setings.

Even with 1.004 I had an instance yesterday where hitting ESC did nothing and I had to ALT-TAB out of the game and close it.

It happened after I crashed, but wasn´t killed.

Thx...

A stopgap solution for sure, but still not a real fix.

the real question is what other software programing is running in the back ground same time your running IL-2 BOS? maybe they can fix it.

I f it works, its real enough for me-what diffeerence does it make where you push the escape button, as long as you escape?

Off topic: Mastiff, Im glad to hear you got your TrackIR issue resolved-

I tried this, but no luck - doesn't seem to make any difference.  When the bug bites, neither the Esc key nor the joystick button will work.  And I've had this bug happen regardless of whether I was running my usual gamut of background/additional apps (e.g., Logitech profiler, TIR 5.2, RTSS (Frame Rate display overlay) and EVGA PrecisionX (GPU info overlay)) or whether I'm running nothing but the game itself or any combination/subset of those.  It happens whether I'm running the stock terrain.ini file, or whether I'm running a modified terrain.ini file, and it happens whether I'm running DSR and full screen ticked, or no DSR and full screen unticked. It only fails maybe 1 time out of every 3 or 4, and there's no pattern I can discern.

It was gone for about 10-15 missions in a row for two or three days (last Friday-Sunday), as were my CTD problems, but both have returned intermittently after the 1.004 update.

Onlly other program, apart fro windows and drivers, is TrackIr.

I just wonder what's so fancy about the IL-2 BOS ESC key. For all other programmes and games it works flawless.

which tracker software version you using.

Same here with ESC button.

Freezes in game seem solved for me. ESC problem reduced, but say 1 in 10 it still happens.

That ruined Friggin XP twice yesterday...

As a side note, I am more disturbed by the lack of free difficulty setting and free graphics setting as the unlocks.

After bending over for the XP, I at least got some training value out of it.

Same cannot be said about  lack of free settings.

by any chance you guys running OSD programs? and IE browser in the back ground? the latest OSD I had to turn off it caused me to CTD or ESC not to work. but EVGA x16 latest works ok.

I also had this problem. My button fpr flaps up and flaps down on my warthog joystick if left up or down while hitting escape wont work solved by moving button to neutral allowed me to hit escape.
