Error #4: Wrong Email or password

Recommended Posts

Hey can anyone please help me?

After a series of bluescreen CTD's/Lock-ups I was asked to re-enter my login details after rebooting when I launched the game.

I keep receiving the following message " Error #4: Wrong Email or Password "....

I've double-triple checked that its the right password/email and can't understand what's happening.

Is this a known issue?

Do I need a complete reinstall?

Has anyone else heard of this problem?

All suggestions appreciated - feeling very frustrated with the game as it was running well before this issue.

Regards

This happened to me ALOT!!!

After my last crash, I checked my startup.cfg with a friend file and changed

proxy_name = "beta00-master.il2sturmovik.net:443"
register_url = "http://riseofflight.com/Registration.aspx"

to

proxy_name = "alpha.il2sturmovik.net:443"
register_url = ""

I was then able to log again.

Hope it will help someone.

Hello IL-2 Community,

I just bought IL-2 BOS and Battle of Kuban on steam as it was on sale, i been waiting for a sale for sometime.

    My issue is i have an account on the IL-2 website, and im trying to link my account on the site with steam so that

my name shows up ingame, all i have there currently is the player with number.

Im on the page ingame where it says "Link account and login"

So i click on that, put in my e-mail address and pw, which are both the same on the IL-2 website, and when i click to link/login

i get the error message as per the title of the thread

#4: Wrong Email or password

What can i do here to fix this? Should i try a reinstall of the game as the previous poster did?

Did some Googeling and found this which worked for me:

Try this:

1. Login to your existing account at https://il2sturmovik.com
2. Open new tab and login web Steam page and login
2. Leave page open while logged in and start your steam BoS game
3. Click the autogenerated !callsign on the right
4. Choose Register New account which opens a Steam login page
5. Login with Steam credentials (if requested)
6. Should get a Success message

Dude!

That worked!

Thank you very much for finding that out, was racking my brains on it yesterday.

Although i didn't get any success message, going to the website i got the page Connected Steam Account and my steam account

link after it, the game shutdown when i went to the site which i think was part of the process, so i started the game

up again and there was my name as i see it here! Thanks again man!

Dude! You’r my saviour! Thanks so much for the post, I’ve been struggling for AGES with this problem and this is the only real solution I found, so thanks a LOT!

Had the exact same issue, made an il2sturmovik account to try and buy the game through their website, but it didn't support any payment options I could easily use, so ended buying the game through Steam.

This meant I couldn't register my usual nickname anymore though, since this account already existed, and trying to login to the account in-game didn't work. HillmanNor's approach worked flawlessly, ended up at a 'connected steam account' page afterwards. Thanks a lot!
