harisund Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Gaming Desktop. Not connected to a good enough internet with a high enough bandwidth quota. A laptop I can not play with. But I can move it around to a place where I can get pretty awesome internet. Any thoughts on what I can do? Is it possible to download the entire game on the laptop and move the appropriate content to the desktop once done?
harisund Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 You could. Bear in mind, whenever there's an update it would require copying over the entire folder again as you won't know which files were updated and newly created. I was going to do that. I wanted to know if there were any registry keys, any files created outside the main installation folder etc. Also, I am ok downloading on my laptop and copying my entire folder again every time there's an update (for now at least). Thank you.
Dakpilot Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 There is no problem doing copy paste, no registry keys etc. The only issue I could foresee is when a game update is available and you launch it on the "main " pc it will try to auto update and maybe chew your bandwidth if your not careful Cheers Dakpilot
Sokol1 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Maybe in the new computer is not find some D3D9...dlll (happen to me after a new OS install and use a saved copy of the game), in this case reinstall the DX from folder: _:\IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad\data\updater\3rd_party
