Boost in fps and graphics

Recommended Posts

Hallo all..may be this is helpful for some gamers:

I run a not very powerful graphic computer, so If you want to have a boost in performance but good looking graphics, you can do this:

Disable the antialiasing in game and gamma to minimum. Graphics in Low and use SweetFx (profile by Fifi , you can find it in the post by SYN_Requiem  in the section of Air Combat Tutorial of this forum).

Low down screen resolution as needed ( I must run it at 1176 x 664). In Nvidia card, set Antialiasing controlled by application.

No stutters, the game run smooth. Nice performance in my poor laptop and beauty colours from SweetFx.

I know there will be a bunch of guys saying buy a better PC....please stop with that. This post is for people with low performance PC or laptops.

Thank you all for your help.

Actually, while buying a better PC would probably allow you to enjoy the game better, allowing for actual visual customization would be even superior to that. No idea why on god's green earth they thought that was a good idea. It only hurts your bottom line, because now I have to tell friends with low-end systems "Yeah it's a fun game, but it'll probably run poorly on your system since you really can't tweak.

This is not a game worth buying a new PC for.

But I agree with the other part. Not being able to customize graphics really limits what you can do to make older computers run it.

I will try this.. For my 6520G AMD laptop graphics card!

I'm saving up for a new PC, but I do hate when people say "just buy a new pc" .. like anyone can just pull $2000 out of their ass.

Mom told me once "say something nice and usefull or don't say a thing at all"

It is a shame to constantly dwell on the negative. Life really is too short to be so worked up about a game. Pro or con.

Excellent suggestion by the OP. Also applicable to many other games too. Thanks for taking the time to post......that is what this thread was about wasn't it?

It´s really not fair to downrate IL-2 BOS this way.

I remember when ROF initially was released. I even had acces to the beta.

The release version of ROF was a lot more unpolished and lacked a lot of content, including a campaign.

At that  time I thought it would just be another failed attempt to develop a flightsim.

But Neqb / 777 kept on improving ROF add ed more and more content.

Looking at IL-2 BOS, I see a much more polished sim - perfect - no, but really not bad, unlocks and XP's or not.

Graphics are outstanding and so is FM and DM.

I´m sure that if we really support their efforts, then we will see much more content in the form of aircraft, maps and weapon mods. I´m also sure that we will see other types of campaigns, especially when the FMB is ready.

Keep on with a negative posture and telling all around in the community how bad You feel it is, won´t get us anywhere.

There are other flightsims available where progress is much slower and where a lot of the content is in almost constant beta. With IL-2 BOS we have seen very frequent updates and developers that actually interact with their customers.

IIRC changing the gamma settings and using SweetFX has no impact whatsoever in performance. The big change is using lower resolution, makes the game a lot less demanding.

It has impact. At least for me in fps. With my system...any single fps is a gold mine. I tested. It helps a bit. Though you are right that the main thing is the res change of course.
