MiG21bisFishbedL Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 If I had something like $500 Million like the Destiny franchise I'd make the most detail Pacific Air War sim ever built. It would cover the entirety of the PTO from 1941 - 1945 with all allies and axis countries. MK-KNIL campaign?
Higaluto Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 With this budget i make *Flighten-Stein* Combine the best of the three best flight sims ever and make the ultimate monster. IL2 Stalingrad, DCS WW2, IL2 cliffs of dover. I would use the COD map for early war and later war, damage models and ammunition loadouts, and then put in the Advanced flight model from DCS with full cockpit interaction and sounds togheter with the attention to details. and tracers Then i would use the clouds from IL2 Stalingrad and just overall playability it just runs so smooth and explosion effects etc. Now we have the ultimate simulator, both early and late war on the best WW2 map to date, imagine this with formations of 100s of b17 coming over france. If i become i billionaire i will make this game for you guys.
MarcoRossolini Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 For a few bajillions I'd reenact Stalingrad!
DD_bongodriver Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 For a few bajillions I'd reenact Stalingrad! Sod that, the Pacific......palm trees, beaches.......coconuts
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 For a few bajillions I'd reenact Stalingrad!War re-enactment would be great fun, especially for us warbird nuts IRL who'd love a chance to mock dogfight in the genuine thing. But, we really must remember how hellish War is and how especially hellish Stalingrad was. It was the nastiest footnote in the bloodiest chapter of human history. Plus, It's already a pain in the ass to get piston engines running the cold as is. I've had fuel filters ice over and turn a perfectly good Cessna into a glider. Screw that, I'm with the notion of the Pacific theatre as well.
siipperi Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Mine certainly wouldnt have quick mission campaign.

MiG21bisFishbedL Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I'd prefer not to be part of the team doing the Burma railway if its all the same... Let's do it somewhere nice, like say.. Florida or Southern California, in any case. Or the Northern edge of Australia as I've always wanted to go there.
SOLIDKREATE Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 To my Pacific war sim I would also add the feature of a face creator just like in Tiger Woods PGA tour with the option of using your own face as the texture.

Yeah, I too would like to play Barbie dress up doll with my pilot. If BoS has a long life, I guess we'll eventually get there. Edited November 16, 2014 by 79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Take all my votes for a super detailed pacific sim...the real deal! Great graphics, outstanding FM and at least 30 different planes to chose form. Timesetting all way through 1941 - 1945, from Pearl harbour to Iwo Jima. Most detail should go into the ship and plane modeling. Feeling of flight, carrier landings and a whole new wheater atmoshphere to make it an never before seen expirience. Also should include some of the "not so famous" birds not included in usual sims, like the TBD Devastator, B5N2 Kate, B6N Tenzan and SB2C Helldiver along with well known veterans alias Avenger, Hellcat, Ki61, Zero and co. Along wiht a suffisticated SP campaign letting you go threw all types of aircrafts from the P-40 to the F4U Corsair and all different clashes threwout the war there should be a enhenced multiplayer part with different modes, let's say "Aerial Domination" (dogfight server), "Island Invasion" (fighters + bombers fight along landing forces to capture strategic points of an island and gain controll of airstrips) and "Sea Battle" (giant fleet vs fleet clash with all types of aircrafts involved). Addons could include the british pacific force and the australian as well as the pre ww2 japanese - chinese war as a theatre expansion. Also new planes should be part of new content added to the game. I have a dream..... Edited November 16, 2014 by [Jg26]5tuka
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 As someone above said I would,, 1) Buy the rights and code to COLD and set Team Fusion up with the appropriate funds. 2) Invest in RoF to insure in it's continued success. 3) Invest in BoS to insure the completion of it's launch and it's future success. 4) Invest in DCS WW2 to see it to completion and it's success. Well so much for dreaming, now I'm tired out and it's time for a nap. Chief

Bearcat Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I would build a sim that was everything that IL2 is now in terms of accessibility and scalability to start from skinnable pilots to peer to peer servers with graphics that are the best of RoF, BoS, CoD and WoP, CEM that is scalable from full auto to every cockpit function individually modeled... with clickable cockpits (I don't care for them myself.. but if it was my project and I had a bajillion bucks to spend .. I'd put it in there..), covering a time frame of WWI to Korea. Of course it would have full occulus/TIR support (where applicable by OS) and be runnable on rigs that are up to cutting edge or as old as 2-5 years old. It's lowest level of graphics would resemble IL2 at it's top settings and it's highest level settings it would also have AI ground troops and mannable vehicles as well.
SYN_Jedders Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) I'd buy a real plane and hire bongodriver to teach me how to fly it.....muahahahahah! Edited November 17, 2014 by SYN_Jedders
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I'd probably set aside a little money to get a sim about the Inter-war years out there. Just so there can be dogfights, in Peashooters, over Manhattan.
DD_bongodriver Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I'd buy a real plane and hire bongodriver to teach me how to fly it.....muahahahahah! So are you rich yet?
DD_fruitbat Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) talking of flying, you had much chance to fly the Stearman since TG moved to Lydd? Oh and @Syn_Jedders, @17mins onwards the real fun starts, going into a spin beats any roller-coaster hands down Edited November 22, 2014 by fruitbat
DD_bongodriver Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 talking of flying, you had much chance to fly the Stearman since TG moved to Lydd? Yeah a bit, the stearman isn't based at Lydd, it's at a small strip just outside Folkestone called Pent farm, it's now hibernating for the winter now.
SYN_Jedders Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 So are you rich yet? Fkin loaded m8!...had a multiplyer on Ireland to beat South Africa and Australia...who knew
DD_bongodriver Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Cool, make sure you buy something interesting.
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 If I were a biddy biddy rich idle deedle daidle daidle man.
Rolling_Thunder Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Among these sims, there would be modules done to a DCS level of fidelity (with flight manuals, all aircraft controls and switches... the WHOLE thing) with proper tutorials that teach how to operate each aircraft. I'd like to do: -A Vietnam War theater with the MiGs, Crusader, Skyraider, F4 Phantom II, Thunderchief, A-7 Corsair II, and many other aircraft. The map would include the WHOLE Vietnam theater and carrier ops would be a very important part of the game. All servers would be dedicated, and of course the community would have its own mission editor. +1
johncage Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 so far i see a lot of buy x company, give them x amount of money. but i think crucial thing is make yourself head of those companies and make sure deadlines are met, sim vision is met, and no wishy washy arcade elements slip through. oh and buy ubisoft, ea, activision then fire all top management.
DD_bongodriver Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I would pay for johncage to get laid and force him to have an adorable cute puppy dog avatar.

There's nothing wrong with their top management; their top management is doing exactly what their shareholders want them to do. Given how much money these companies are raking in, you want these dudes working for you. Tearing away familiar faces from a company is generally not a good thing. It goes without saying that these individuals don't care much about the medium their producing for, but they don't out right hate it. They're not outright trying to sabotage it. That is to say the only thing they care about is the end of quarter. Are they in the black or not? They care about the quality of their product to the extent that it pushes units. They don't care about reviews, they don't care about users spamming their forums with displeasure. Literally, the only thing that shows up on their radar is poor sales performance. To that end, the consumer is to blame since they ultimately drive the market. If you were to buy up a majority stake in one of these companies, you can bet they'd kowtow to your wishes depending on just how many shares you owned.
