HeavyCavalrySgt Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 The humans aren't the only ones that have troubles with the FW's ground handling. The plane in the distance tried to get lined up with the runway again, but almost immediately gave up, shut down and disappeared. The aircraft that had the wing spontaneously fall off also disappeared. The other guy just sat on the runway to be in the way when I got back. I guess it doesn't matter though since have an infinite supply of aircraft in our campaigns. This guy rammed me after I ground looped, because no situation is so bad that a little creativity can't make it worse. In fairness to the AI, this really might have been an unavoidable collision. 1
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 Another mission - two wingmen managed to take off, but I guess one of them stalled on the climbout. When I saw him again he was upside down in a field with his wheels retracted. The other guy ground looped, and spent quite a few minutes going from 90 degrees off the runway heading in one direction to 90 degrees off the runway heading the other way. I was curious to see what happened when he got the the departure end of the runway, one 180 degree turn and the width of his undercarriage at a time, but his engine overheated instead. He got lined upthen, but just sat there blocking the runway with his engine kind of idling and blowing black smoke until the mission was over. Wasn't it the -109 that had the fearsome reputation for ground handling? I forget.
9./JG27golani79 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Bought the 190 a few days ago and it definitely handles much different than its counterpart in DCS. I can taxi just fine in DCS using only the differential brakes but this technique doesn´t seem to work well in BoS.
1./ZG1_ElHadji Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 And the DCS 190 has actually been tested by a WW2 190 pilot and he gave his thumbs up. I think something is wrong with ground handling here. The A and D versions can't be THAT different.
Jaegermeister Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 The AI in the FW190 crashes on takeoff about 75% of the time for me in campaign missions. I very rarely fly a full 190 ground attack mission with any wingmen. They have other nonsensical behaviors as well. I have posted a couple of bug reports about these issues already.
