-TBC-AeroAce Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Keep the throttle at around 20 to 25% and you should not spin, once u have slowed down then take put it to zero 1
Yakdriver Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 just what i was thinking: probably no rudder effectiveness - torque makes you spin?keep the airflow on the rudder for a while so you can steer... 1
Dakpilot Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I notice you have mixture set to 50%... why is that? don't know if it would cause any issue, but at ground/sea level it should be full rich/100% Cheers Dakpilot
-TBC-AeroAce Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I notice you have mixture set to 50%... why is that? don't know if it would cause any issue, but at ground/sea level it should be full rich/100% Cheers Dakpilot I find that it leans out perfectly around 75% at sea level But changing the mixture wont really effect the ground looping unless u cut the engine out completely
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) I drop my rpms to 0 and throttle as soon as I'm committed to the landing. I know my wheels are about to touch, I zero everything. Seems to work. EDIT I should add I do run it back up to about 15- 20% right after I'm on the ground. Sorry hit post to fast. VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 How much flaps are you using? I only use about 20%
[JGF]Caponi Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) full flaps 100% ... that's wrong ? i could land one time yesterday evening without pirouettes and then i was not able to repeat it this was the much difficulty landing method in my whole sim carreer may be that something is wrong with the controller setup, but i have only this problem by this dam plane Edited November 8, 2014 by caponi
BlackDevil Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I land full flaps. Either a little bit of power and brakes at the end, or no brakes and no power. Just keep it straight aggresively
snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Original manual from La-5 ( same wings shape as Lagg 3 exept motor) is MAX 30 % flaps, I use 20 % see video above. when on runway to avoid ground loop : 1) take care your rudder come back in the middle ( in the setting device page : uncheck "noise Filter" . Now it is well centered when used and easier to keep straight on taxiing and ground breaking ) http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/9584-la-5-quick-guide/?do=findComment&comment=149034 2) use fast yaw rudder input to correct the way, without breaking in the same time Rudder OR brakes 3) keep 20 % throttle power as you brake until full stop will help to keep straight ( enough wind on rudder ) 4) done ! Landing Settings : Oil and cowl rad closed (avoid to cowl motor to keep T° ) Full rpm gear down <300-320km/h 10° flaps <250km/h 30° Flaps max to avoid bouncing on touch final leg approach 200-210 kph Touchdown 3-Point @170 km/h or a bit highter : flare and nose up, lick snow before runway to down speed with nose up ( gently push backward the stick but enough to have 3 point attitude, easier to begin at (5-8m) take care not flaring aircraft at a to high altitude. you must be in the right position at 1m ( Keep in mind the Right 3 point attitude you have before take of) Runway with trees and large pov view, is helpfull to see right altitude. After touch down maintain 800-1000 rpm to have enough wind on Rudder push stick fully backward never use breaks and rudders. Use breaks OR fast little rudder input to correct Straight and avoid ground loops.("pirouette") Cut the motor with max lean mixture settings. Edited November 8, 2014 by snowsnipersnow_sniper
[JGF]Caponi Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 oh ... many thx for this detailed description and yes ... i made something wrong ... i will try your way the device/input settings are the same for me ... i found this post before.
=38=Tatarenko Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I had the same problem then tested my rudder pedals. They were spiking terribly.
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 ok so I'm kind of right on..I'm 15% flaps ,0 rpm or throttle until wheels down then 15 to 20% for roll out. Touchdown 3-Point @170 km/h or a bit highter : flare and nose up, lick snow before runway to down speed with nose up I got to lick what?
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Thanks Snow .... this is immensely helpful. Chief
