Wounded Effect?

Is there a wounded effect in BoS?

I just had a mission result or achievement that mentioned my being wounded but there's no apparent effect in the game ie bloody goggles.

I did notice difficulty flying but didn't see any aircraft damage, all my wings and control surfaces were intact and operating. That would be a great effect if being wounded made flying more difficult, less game like than blood everywhere although that's a good clue you've been hit. RoF does bloody goggles.

Yes there is - but you often see "the player" in chat box saying "I am wounded" without any visual effect or in fact any visible damage to the aircraft. Makes me wonder if the pilot hit box is not a bit too big, if that is how it is being calculated.  When you have been badly hit you get a red/purple smeary look. I think this is quite rare because hits bad enough to trigger this effect are usually bad enough to make you bail (or die).

the "I´m wounded" in the radio is from your wingman.

If the pilot is wounded there is a bloody vision diplayed

Apparently I have been wounded and landed 5 times since I received a badge. But have not seen a purple screen.

There's been times when I was wounded so bad, I could barely see. Red blood shows up on the screen. Fly a bomber, it'll happen often..

There are different types of wound modeled. It doesn't nessecarily restrict your vision to catch some small debris though shrapnel and close to cockpit hits will turn your screen "bloody" (you get tunnel vision) and restrictions to your max stick movements.

Usually your pilot catches "light" damage or max - death. The medium - heavy damage is inflicted rather rarely, though I remember plenty of occasions I encountered it.

Edit: Apparently gunners can even become deaf when facing enemy fire. Really funny to switch into your gunner seat and suddenly all game sounds are off

I am 99% sure that this is not the whole story - I have seen chat box messages saying "I'm wounded" from the "player" not Crane 2 or whoever. Plus I was somewhat surprised to see the badge (tough guy? something like that) for finishing several missions while wounded, when I for sure had not seen teh purple haze that often

I remember that someone from the team (I think Jason) said that they wanted to improve pilot hitpoints in ROF.

So I´m surprised that there are no improvements in this area. But maybe I´m wrong

I'm pretty sure the pilot wound process is bugged.

It is strange in RoF - nearby explosion like AAA fire (or own bomb going off) has a good chance of wounding pilot without damaging the plane, often so lightly you need to check lobby to see you are wounded. My Halberstadt pilot was hospitalised numerous times in career mode after close calls with my own bombs; the plane was unscratched and I had no idea I am wounded.

S!

Got the wounded medal in campaign and frankly did not know why. Yes I saw a few times I had been wounded, but most of them no damage, nothing.

My pilot gets wounded a lot, red blurry vision.

The effect is there, for sure. When I get hit it looks like I've been hit by an high explosive jar of raspberry jam.

I also got my wounded badge without noticing much. I think I had the "blood on goggles" effect one time.
