Resolution on Skin

Hi,

 

When looking outside my window i see this beautifull landscape but looking closer i see this low resolution skin.

Also when im viewing my plane or other planes from the outisde view i notice that the resolution of the skins is very low and pixelated.

 

Will the resolutions made higher soon in a patch or is this it and do we have to mod it to a higher resolution?

i do not know what you would want for resolution 16k by 16k?

afaik at the moment it's 4k by 4k, so already pretty good.

the difference is this: the landscape looks good because its not under your nose. the plane is closer.

Skin resolution is 2048x2048, not 4kx4k.

And Mainstay is right. When viewed from a short distance from outside it's changing to much lower resolution.

War thunder supports 4k aircraft textures and the difference is very noticible

All im trying to figure out is if the dev are planning higher res skins because atm i think these are a letdown.

More resolution is high. it takes more weight.

higher res means performance loss, so having hyper high res skins in exchange for performance

wouldnt't mind 4k

am actually hoping for, and that is why i have 3GB as VMem...
what i DO notice is that skin loading times are already high, i always see the standard skin on AI dudes, before the winter paint gets loaded.
so loading textures that are 4 times bigger might take some extra time
