Wings! Is Back

I hope this goes well for them.  Cinemaware had some great titles back in the day, including this one.

 

On the other hand, I was very disappointed with Defender of the Crown - it totally lost the flavor of the original, IMHO.

 

I think Wings! did a good job telling the story of a WW1 fighter pilot, particularly dealing with morale issues.

Enjoying this again... got the revamped version the day it came out, still fun, and something I can play on my laptop when I'm away from my gaming pc

Yeah, I agree: definitely dated and it got me thinking about how much more computing power we have on phones and tablets today compared to an Amiga with a Fat or Super Agnus and HiRes Denise let alone a PC capable of running something like BoS.

 

There is nostalgia at work though, thinking of the re-release of X-Wing and TIE Fighter, the fairly recent release of the Atari Flashback 2.  

 

I want a remake of Covert Action and Elevator Action though ;-)

Looks like it is available for Android now, i* soon. (or now if you want an emulation instead of remastered)

I'm finding it fun and a light way to enjoy all things aviation...

 

Until the update arrives to deal with the joystick issues (but to be honest you can easily control everything with the keyboard) I'm still playing on the laptop and have attained Major rank and have 30 odd kills...
