NZTyphoon Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) Eric Pilawskii's site (vvs.hobbyvista.com) on the aircraft of the VVS, although no longer active is a great repository on the colour schemes and markings of VVS aircraft, as is his book http://www.amazon.com/Soviet-Fighter-Colours-1941-45-Classic/dp/190322330X His current website, which continues the work, is http://www.redbanner.co.uk/ albeit there doesn't seem to be much recent activity. Anyway, plenty of inspiration for skins. Edited December 12, 2012 by NZTyphoon
FTC_Cule Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 the general vvs paintscheme was plain pale green until 1942 (summer) when variation (into brown, olive greens, etc) was implemented. this also was no coincidence, as by that time a new paintscheme (base on greens) was adopted by the russian ground vehicles.
[KWN]T-oddball Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 another nice site if your looking to make skins http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f 1
Furio Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 the general vvs paintscheme was plain pale green until 1942 (summer) when variation (into brown, olive greens, etc) was implemented. this also was no coincidence, as by that time a new paintscheme (base on greens) was adopted by the russian ground vehicles. To say it more correctly: it was green (single and two tones), then green and black, and finally two-tone grey on light blue. ???
