I mucked up my install, can someone give advice?

Guys,

Tried to do a Java update that went horribly wrong (problem has nothing to do w/ java BTW)

Had to invoke "System Restore" .

Now when I try to launch BoS, The launcher says "PLAY" per normal, but once I sign in, it says "Your version is out of date (or some such) Please update your game"

If the launcher no longer automatically updates, how does one manually update? Am I in for a re-install?

Help me Obe Wan Kenobe......................

 

PS- Never, ever update anything on your PC after two glasses of port wine....................

i would say so - reinstall.
the login after that will give you back your unlocks and your stats.

ugh... note down and remember your account data - login and PW.
remove the program from your windoz
optional reboot[?]
go to the website account, and check your purchases, somewhere round there should say "download the game"

and presto, you know the rest.

u sure you wanna reinstall?

not wanna fix the java thing first, else you reinstall and then wanna update java again which will end badly... again...?

Delete the content of your update folder and restart the launcher. Might work.
