Can we have selfsealing fuel tanks?

I assume we do not have this at the moment looking at the frequenty of fires. Change of coding of DM must be doable I think.

Now that's a good question.  The other day I was flying a Yak and got hit by a MG bullet from a 109, fuel started leaking out and never stopped.  It was a fight at 5 to 6 K so I actually got a little lighter as the fight went on!  Then 2 more 109s showed up.  Time to dive for home!  But that tank never self sealed, I was leaking all the way to the ground.  Hmm wonder if it pooled under the plane when I stopped rolling?

Yak1 didn't have self sealing fuel tank until the "b" variant I believe.

 

At little bit off topic but why didn't we have the Yak1b with uprated M105PF engine, bubble canopy and 1x 12.7 HMG instead of 2 peashooters? Hell even the Yaks in the first trailer were Yak 1b, but instead we got the Yak 1 series 69(with flight performance slightly lower than the 1b, to be fair).

Did you guys ever leak until empty tanks?? It never happened to me. Is it enabled ??

Well the gauge show the leak by going down in a alarming rate, the good thing about unlock system is you go home after been hit. So I never stayed around to check. I fly currently only offline, I wait until the slots in mp are doubled of what they are today
