Bomred Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I have the standard edition, but i would like to enhance it buying the FW-190. I don´t know how to do it. Help please!! Thank you
=LD=Hethwill Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 http://il2sturmovik.com/store/#popup-fw-190-a-3 There you go
SR-F_Winger Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Buy it to support. but dont fly it. Its a deathtrap:) 1
von_Greiff Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Buy it to support. but dont fly it. Its a deathtrap:) ....simply don't agree! 3
II./JG53Lutzow_z06z33 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Buy it to support. but dont fly it. Its a deathtrap:) Your quite wrong in the hands of a skilled pilot its a great plane but you better know how to fly and fight in it!
A-E-Hartmann Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 The Fw-190 is formidable in the hands of a good pilot . 1
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Buy it to support. but dont fly it. Its a deathtrap:) Utter nonsense! It left much to be desired a six weeks ago. It left a little to be desired three weeks ago. It still takes a steady hand, as it should, but in the hands of a skilled pilot she is now an unmerciful assassin!
BeastyBaiter Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I find the Fw-190 a joy to fly and highly effective (La-5 as well). It isn't the CFS equivelant of a noobtube like the 109 is, but that doesn't mean it's bad.
indiaciki Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I bought it as a DCS module - I hate that plane. I really do. No wonder many Luftwaffe pilots stayed with the 109 variants.

Yes indeed, but the squadrons that had them right off the bat did love them as they had no prolonged time on the 109's to affect their transition and long term familiarization. My favorite in game second only to the Lagg.

Ciki, it's a relationship you just have to work at. She hates being on the ground and she will tell you so in no uncertain words. But as many pilots have said above, in the right hands, those that have come to grips with her, she is deadly. But hey, I'm still working on that relationship with Dora in DCS. She kills me most of the time on take off, STILL. But I'm not giving in to her. Chief Edited November 1, 2014 by -NW-ChiefRedCloud
indiaciki Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I'll have to try the lagg more often. Just flew her a couple of times. She's fantastic to fly. She's one where you just can't expect her to go from 0 to take off without her being temperamental. Give her all the runway you can and keep her level at take off. She does not like to climb suddenly but slowly. Chief
indiaciki Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I'll have to buy rudder pedals - you were right... the mustang doesn't climb too fast, either, though she's very good at low speeds.

indiaciki Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Come join "Team dump truck"..its a blast! I thought you were flying bombers?
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) Yes but I like the lagg as well. A break from the same old once in a while is nice. I cant dogfight that well in it but its still fun. I can't say much about the 190 I have it, flew it a few times, got it in the air a few times too! Edited November 1, 2014 by Blackwolf
indiaciki Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 What bombers do you fly? I'm working on the stuka and the heinkel.
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Stuka, He111, IL2 and the PE-2, anything that can haul bigger bombs or level bomb. Right now I'm using the PE-2- and IL2 more. I have more work to do in the Stuka and He-111 I'm not that good with them yet.
indiaciki Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 The He-111 is easy. I'm doing patterns with the stuka. Bombing is easy if you have bombed with RE8. Landing her makes me nervous.
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I'll have to buy rudder pedals - you were right... the mustang doesn't climb too fast, either, though she's very good at low speeds. I could never go back to a twisty stick..don't care what the game is once you get used to the pedals, they are needed as much a joystick is. If I broke my pedals I'd wait for new ones before I flew again. They make all the difference IMO.

1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Yes I've bombed with the RE8( I hate climbing that plane though) I got the level bombing down..its like ROF but faster speeds. Its the high angle dive bombing that's getting me..can you say lawndart? I miss big time or plow into the ground full speed. I need more practice with that.
indiaciki Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) I love the R.E 8 for all her faults like climbing for 30min, sudden stalls and all that stuff I tried to "stuka" her witout wings falling off Edited November 1, 2014 by indiaciki 1
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I find I do better in the DH4 or the Bristol, but the RE8 is fun..stalls and all! Hey we hijacked your own thread to talk about ww1 and ROF .
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 oops or Bomred's thread..sorry dude we didn't mean to.
beepee Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Haha. Back to the 190. She's not bad on ground attack either, but that's just my opinion.
SR-F_Winger Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Yeah youre all right and i just tell nonsense. I dont fly online enough and just suck. so i cant make a decent statement on the performance of a fighter.... Know what. I DONT CARE! Fly it and get smoked. Not my problem! hmm Yes. An ace. Hunts a plane that has no engine and burns 4k height for nothing. Well done!
dkoor Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 You don't fly a FW in combat like a fighter plane, you fly it like a thunderstruck. In old IL-2 FW was the best (conventional) killing machine you could get. That is if you don't count Me-262, Lerche or other what if wonderweapons. Nothing beats 4x20mm high speed attacking FW pass on flying target. And if you wanna airshow then you go with Spitfire, Me-109 or another agile plane. But for kills, nothing surpasses FW.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 After the last couple of updates you can stay in turn fights and the vertical longer but that is still not her strong suit. Fight to your aircraft's strengths. In this case that's BNZ.
Lusekofte Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Hey I have flown simulators from Beta IL2 origin and cfs before that. I started out in coin machines in 1980 and bought my own pc with some ridiculous sim in 1996 . I am still a lousy fighter pilot. It is just not in me. I do well if I take a fighter high altitude and look for opportunities, but I am bad in fighter tactics. It is not that anyone is a bad pilots, but I know people with wonderful tactics that just never attack you unless they get the upper hand. So I go bomber, do not be sad we are all different
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) Why attack if you don't have the upper hand? If you have the advantage go shoot at someone. If you don't go away and come back higher and faster so you do have the advantage. I fly bombers because I like to. Most in my squad can fly fighters as well. One guy is a real F4 driver as well as a few other fighters. I bet in RL he wouldn't attack if he didn't have an advantage over the bad guy. Edited November 1, 2014 by Blackwolf
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) My pilot's life is valuable, even in an MP/DF server, because I consider it my life. I only attack with the advantage and will run for half a round to stay alive if pursued. "Better five seconds yellow than a long time dead." Franz Stigler Edited November 1, 2014 by HerrMurf 1

This attitude is top and, on the case we get the community 1 life events running in the future, is a winner.
