TUSAPepper Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Greetings All, Several of us have just purchased the official release and are trying to understand a few things. So far: 1. Trim controls. We don't seem to be able to map them separately. Additionally, they don't seem to work on the defaults either. We realize this may be plane specific, but it would be very helpful to know which planes it can/can't be done with. Same with Tail Wheel lock. This seems only to work on certain aircraft and not on others. 2. Locked features. It seems we have to do the campaigns to unlock certain things. No problem, but is there a list of somewhere of what gets unlocked? 3. Also, are there any issues with the kind of sticks/pedals used that the game may be having issues with recognizing i.e. CH, Warthog, Thrustmasters, etc.? 4. Also having TIR problems. For one of us on a TIR 3 Pro, the game doesn't seem to recognize settings changes. No matter what settings are input out of game, once in game, it reverts to some sort of standard setting that can't be adjusted. Any info on this? 5. Is there a bomb site tutorial somewhere? Set up, Controls, etc. Apologies if these questions have already been addressed. If anyone can point us to that info, or be able to let us know the answers, we'd be very grateful. Apologies as well if I've posted this in a wrong area. Please move if better placed elsewhere. Edited October 30, 2014 by TUSATUSAPepper
Dakpilot Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 As far as number 2 is concerned go to PROFILES on the main menu, click on an aircraft and you will see what extras are available, The rest of your questions are catered for in tutorials section of forum http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/82-tutorials-and-manuals/ The third pinned topic is very useful Cheers Dakpilot

TG-55Panthercules Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 As to your 4th question, I'm running BoS with old TIR3Pro hardware using the version 5.2 TIR software (just checked - looks like they're up to 5.2.2 but I haven't updated since I don't have an AMD card and, if it ain't broke, I ain't fixing it), and it's working just fine as far as I can tell. I've run into a few BoS bugs, but I don't think any of them have been related to TIR. What kinds of settings is he trying to use that aren't working? Has he cleared up any conflicts between TIR key/command assignments and BoS key/command assignments?

I'm using version 5.1 which may have something to do with the issue. I'll try to update and see if that makes any difference. (Love your comment about, "If it ain't broke..." I'm with you 100%! The issue is strange. I select my profile out of game and it works fine. Personally, I use a very fast setting with no dead zone. When I get in game, it's as though it reverts to some sort of default: panning becomes very slow and narrow and it has a pretty wide dead zone which I don't ever use. To compensate, I've tried making my settings ridiculously high (almost as fast and as broad a view angle as it will let me) and that does speed up the panning somewhat, but nowhere near what it should be. And the dead zone never goes away. Strange..... I'll try the software update and see what happens. I'll also check for any conflicts, although I don't really think that's the issue. Still, there's nothing to lose by trying. No matter the outcome, thanks greatly for the reply!
TG-55Panthercules Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 If that doesn't work for some reason, I'd be happy to share the profile I'm using (same one I use with RoF) - these things are a lot of personal taste so it may not be your cup of tea, but it might be worth a try. Requiem has also posted his profile in his tutorial thread (see here: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/3625-air-combat-tutorials-tir-profile-g940-controls-sweetfx-updat/ ) - I tried it but liked my old RoF one a bit better, but it's another option that you might want to try as lots of people seem to like it.
CIA_Luth Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Pepper, send me a pm, or reply here. i might be able to help you with a few of your problems. CIA_Luth
vonPilsner Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 My TiR shows the game as Rise of Flight, I bet it is loading the profile associated with that game whenever you play BoS. Try assigning the TiR profile you want to the RoF game and maybe it will load the correct one for you.
