Yakdriver Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Hi. don't know where to put this, so i shall just scream out in the Lounge.I would like to Thank all and everyone involved in the foundation, creation and promotion of BoS. Having started with "Forgotten Battles" in early 2003, and also aquired the Original IL-2, I have been with this simulator through AEP, PF, and 1946 - and then the Big modpacks, up to "Dark Blue World". I compare BoS to the original "Forgotten Battles" that treats a similar subject, and with this perspective in mind, BoS is a worthy successor to FB. The Environments seem similar, the scenery is similar, and the mood that exists during the flights to and from the target is along the lines, but much improved because of graphics, sound and underlying physics. Seemingly Basic, but very important features have been provided - and not every game/simulator provides themtakeoff, cruise, landing. Freedom of movement. detailed FM that requires your attention at all times settings for noobs and hardliners, enabling a wide span of players accurate models and animations to 2014 standard complex AI awesome performance at highest possible settings on a 3 years old PC (I7; ATI7990; 8GB) Solid Foundation offering a lot of expansion possibilities. I ENJOY what you did here and ENCOURAGE you to stay with it. I would like to say THANK YOU for your work, enthusiasm and dedication. 30
DD_Arthur Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I ENJOY what you did here and ENCOURAGE you to stay with it. I would like to say THANK YOU for your work, enthusiasm and dedication. Nice post Hawker. I've taken a very similar journey and would like to add my thanks and appreciation too.
Finkeren Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 No software product is perfect at launch, but BoS is such a solid base to build from, that it has a future for the next decade, provided the devs are up for it. Hope to be able to support and enjoy many years of development.
HippyDruid Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 It's nice to read something positive. Well said!
avlSteve Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Totally obsessed with it. I'm either in game or on the forums. Almost every waking hour of my life. So yeah, thanks!
sallee Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 More people agree with you than you seem to think! Well said, Hawker.
Steambat Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Totally agree with all of that Hawker. Seeing a lot of negative "vibes" on the forum recently, so it's nice to see that there are people out there who are loving it as much as myself. I'm a mediocre flyer myself who enjoys both SP and MP, but a lot of the time I just like to fly around, practice landing/take off's and getting the feel of as many aircraft as my brain can handle - which is normally not too many. That said the team has produced a spot on sim which I for one will continue to back and will enjoy playing no matter how many times I get shot out of the sky!
=AVG=Zombie Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Wow, what a strange feeling to get when reading something very good here..... Very nice indeed.
dkoor Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I'm in agreement with many things posted here. This game has enormous potential that only just began to show...
Taxman Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I am also agreement with most of the posts on this topic. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Beazil Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Great stuff. Agreed on my end as well. I've seen lots of positive comments about this Sim, but it's easy to get lost in the negative comments sometimes. Thanks hawker. S!
Freycinet Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Man, just look at the trees in that screenie and compare with the old layered-texture forests in Il-2 Original... We've come a long way! Great posting.
T6-ADStukadriver Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Yep...couldn't agree more. This will make the upcoming long winter more endurable.
