Rhino Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Did a quick search and couldn't find anything on this subect. Brief description: When in the main menu I get serious FPS issues, even on low settings, while ingame I have no FPS issues.Detailed description, conditions: As per above, I get serious FPS issues when on the main menu, even with low gfx settings, while ingame my FPS are fine all the time. Granted I do have a really old GFX card (GTX260) but the rest of my system is pretty good and as I said, no issues ingame, just on the main menu. Just a few hrs ago when coming out of a mission back to the main menu, I even saw artficats all over my screen which I haven't seen in years and even when closing down the game, still had them on the Windwos 7 desktop... Had to restart to solve the problem but I belive it was caused by the overly demanding main menu? I've had this issue ever since I started to play from the begging of the early access on Steam as I thought it was just an area you had yet to optimize but its still very much here in the full release. It would be nice to have a main menu that dosen't lag and you didn't have to wait for your course to move etc. This is my single biggest problem with the game so far, other than that for the most part I really do love it, nice job guys and I hope you can sort out this small issue :DAdditional assets (videos, screenshots, logs): n/aYour PC config data (OS, drivers, specific software): System Information ------------------ Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (6.1.7601) Architecture: 64-bit Current Culture: English (United Kingdom) Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. Rhino Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 Can't seem to edit my last post but here are some pics of the artifacts after coming out of a campaign mission and get this for about 30secs, flicering to back screen and diffrent artifacts: And then worse case is they don't go away once getting into the main menu, and even after exiting the game they are on the desktop, but most of the time that dosen't happen but has happened twice now. This is really on top of the problem that the main menu lags but I think its related.
coconut Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Having an OK fps in the game and painful lag in the menu is common. I get 45-60 fps flying, and a slightly laggy mouse pointer in the menus (GeForce 660GTX here). If I rise my settings (from balanced to high) I will get 30-45 fps in the game (which is OK-ish), and maybe 25 fps in the menus, which indeed feels very laggy. Sadly, the triangle glitches in the menu could be a sign your graphics card is dying. It could also be a driver issue or corrupted game files, I suppose, and it's worth checking these first. To test if it's a hardware problem, I would suggest trying to push your GPU. Run different 3d games that will saturate the GPU. To do that, disable vsync and framerate locking. Use a hardware monitor to check your GPU utilization is at 100%. There are also 3d benchmarks available that you can use to check the stability of your hardware (with some known risks to fry it, but the same applies to games).
=69.GIAP=Giap69pavel Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Hello Sorry if this is not the same bug, but for me it is the most similar description of what happens to me. Looks like a old known problem, but i don't know if it is fixed or not. The effect only happens when it is apply the Crossfire. I put a Video because it is hard to me explain it. During the game everything runs fine. System Information------------------ Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Architecture: 64-bit Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula.
