BRIEF: Hi all, i don't know if it's a bug\problem or a red wine effect... Today I've finish the first tutorial mission where i can land. I've accomplish the objective (destroy stuka) and so on the HUD a message tell me that i've 2 options to complete, press esc and finish mission or arrive on my airport for a Landing and finish mission. Ok, my landing tecnique need a lot of work but in a way or another i'm on the ground with the gear down and engine off. So i think: Ok, now i press esc and then Finish Flight and i can restart or exit form this mission. I press esc but nothing happen... i can't exit from the mission and from plane's cockpit. All is OK, trackIR on - palne command is all active..  but if i press  ESC nothing happen and to stop mission i need brutally close the game returning to desktop. So where is the trick? Wine effects?

Additional assets (videos, screenshots, logs):

Your PC config data (OS, drivers, specific software): Win7 64bit - Last nvidia Driver - Sli Nvidia GTX 780 - Specific Software active during game: TARGET GUI (warthog software) - TrackIr.

P.S. Thanks to the hard work Devs!

:salute:

This can happen when you miss the "Exit Point".  You *should* receive the "You have landed" message at the top of the screen when your runway speed is less than 30kph.  The "red wine" or "beer can" effect is being in a hurry and not passing through the "Exit Point" before landing.

It may also just be an instance of an escape key bug that I've seen posts about (and experienced myself) - sometimes the game simply refuses to recognize your escape key, and you're hosed.

It happened to me even when I did hit the "exit point", so I don't think that's all it is, but maybe that's another trigger for the problem.  I haven't made it to the point of trying to hit escape after missing the exit point so I can't say for sure.

Is exaclty what happened to me. ;)

You have to be sure that your warthog don't have a switch activating a key with the hold function at the moment when you press esc

For example I'm using the flaps switch on the throttle for the in-game flaps.

In down position this switch act like if I'm holding the F key on the keyboard.

After the landing if I forgot this switch and don't put it back in neutral position the esc key doesn't work anymore because for the game it is exactly like if I'm pressing F + esc.

So be very careful with the switches you have programmed with the hold function in Target.

It helps to press the<ESC> key during the mission to make sure it can actually be completed.  If it can't then it's time to bail.  Most of my mission failures were due to extremely annoying bugs in the campaign, but I managed to get through it all:

The advice about testing the Esc key is good (though it shouldn't be necessary - something is clearly going wrong here).  But what's wrong with the above picture?

118 successful missions flown in just 4 hours of flight time?  That's about 2 minutes per mission (and actually less, given that the 37 failed missions must have taken some time at least)  :o:

So, is this just another bug in the stat routine, or do you have some secret to completing these missions at hyperspeed?

I played almost all of them on "Full" and some of them took over an hour to complete and yes, the stats are wrong.  I bet I spent at least 40+ hours on that damn campaign dealing with numerous CTD's and other nasty bugs and I learned to test the <ESC> key the hard way.  There's nothing like wasting an hour on a mission you have no chance to "win".  I incurred a three day ban for voicing my opinions about the quality of some of those campaign missions and the monkeys who "tested" them.
