JG4_Sputnik Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Thread got locked in the general discussion forum, maybe it's allowed to post it here....? Why is it possible to do such acrobatics with a Heinkel 111? I just tried it myself, full real, 5% fuel, no bombs. Han or any devs, any ideas?
Marjak Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) Sputnik, have a look here: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12078-whats-bf-109-fm/page-2 post # 70. False claim. It`s as easy as that. Edited October 27, 2014 by Marjak
SYN_Bandy Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) IMHO it cannot be dismissed as "easy as that". Han's video's are out of context and show a modern twin and quad turboprop aircraft not on take off doing half-hearted rolls and a loop (in one instance) after an indeterminate run-in to build up speed. It proves nothing. Edited October 27, 2014 by SYN_Bandy
Marjak Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Of course, I agree. But look at the way Han did treat this issue. Claim false, you is wrong and that`s it. It`s as easy as that.
SYN_Bandy Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) If I misread your post's intent, I apologize Marjak, I thought you were supporting the 'evidence' as presented. Do not get me wrong, I support BoS but will not have the wool pulled over my eyes so easily. Developers need to test this behaviour themselves of course to prove it, be transparent about any flaws if discovered, and then acknowledge it will be corrected if shown to be the case. Is this so little to ask for instead of this blanket obfuscation? Has it come to that? Edited October 27, 2014 by SYN_Bandy
Marjak Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) No, I`m not supporting the "evidence" of Han`s posted videos. I`ve just read the whole topic at http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12078-whats-bf-109-fm/ with all the claims and all the answers and so I really doubt that Han or another dev will have another look at it. We first have to come up with a video in which some crazy freak does try to make a loop with a twin-engine aircraft (comparable to the He 111) just after take off and dreadfully runs it into the ground. According to Han`s logic they would have a look at the FM then. Edited October 27, 2014 by Marjak
SYN_Blackrat Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I have absolutely no idea of the FM, or any other anecdotal evidence, I have stood next to one in the RAF Museum in London and it looked pretty big to me as you can see in the photo I took. So I was surprised when I took one for a quick flight at how easy it was to turn, I was expecting more of a feel of weight to it, just my perception nothing else, maybe it was very flickable. Densetsu Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) Perhaps it's because the engine architecture was originally created for light WW1 planes so the physics don't translate perfectly to heavy He111s. Whatever the reason, the devs consistently display their inability to have a constructive debate. Edited October 27, 2014 by Densetsu
indiaciki Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) I'll repost FG28Kodiaks original He-111 Flight manual. I hope it's okay: http://www.mediafire...h_Sept_1938.pdf Edited October 27, 2014 by indiaciki
