VRPilot Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Hi folks, after the last few MP matches, I've gome to the conclusion that red pilots have a very hard time to fight the axis in the air. We are outnumbered and have to deal with not-so-good planes. What to do? Well, thanks to our glorious leader we have two guns that can win the game for us. The VYa-23mm and the NS-37mm! Load AP (blue ammo symbol), equip your plane with some FAB100 bombs and win the war on the ground! The axis pilots are most of the time busy stalking our Airfields so prepare to take of far away from the frontlines. Here are three short videos that show you how to become a real tank killer! bombing stuff 37mm in action 23mm in action time to become glorious! ofcourse bombing is the same in evil axis planes 4
keeno Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 VollautoVolker, great vids! I always fly VVS as I enjoy the underdog status, every victory is a major victory. I can't beat the LW in the air and so I pound the ground instead. I'm ok at ground attack normally but I can't hit a tank with a bomb to save my life. I'm definately going to give this a go as I've never thought about the 37mm in a Lagg3. One thing about the campaign is that it's given me a new appreciation for the aircraft. Usually I try to kick ass in the La5 but................. Bring on the big guns. Cheers
Gambit21 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 The Russian birds are much more rewarding to fly IMHO.
Jason_Williams Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Good stuff! Especially the bombing vid. Not easy to do, definitely need to train yourself on techniques. Jason 1
VRPilot Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) thx! for easier bombing if you have trouble hitting moving targets and you are in a IL-2 or LaGG-3 with 23/37mm cannon: hit the tank with a couple of shots to the side (with good aim one pass from behind kills the tank) and the tank becomes immobile with a burning engine (black smoke) (see 37mm video 2:44+) now you can bomb a non moving target more easily! Jason_Williams Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 You should give optimum speed though on the bomb dive to score a hit. Jason
Lusekofte Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Your bombing is text book on how the stukapilots learned how to bomb tanks after they converted to FW-190 . Very good and many thanks
Lusekofte Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I like the russian planes , mostly because how they fly. It feels so realistic just like sitting in the pit. I think the pit´s look very authentic also compared to Luftwaffe ones
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Very nice videos ...... thanks Chief
