Volski Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Il2 and Lagg for ground pounding. Lagg & La-5 for attacking bombers.
scoobe Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 Surprised no one mentioned the Yak 1. Although I havent flown it too much yet, its starting to grow on me as my favorite fighter. Rob
3instein Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I had been flying the Yak-1 all the time but today I purchased the La-5 so I am getting to grips with that now, good plane by the feel of it but as I saw in other posts it is a little prone to bursting into flames pretty easily, definitely a lot more than the Yak. Mick.
GP* Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I've flown solely LW planes for a long time, but I'm not a huge fan of the 109 in this game. The beginnings of the campaign forced me to fly the LaGG-3, and I fell in love with it. It's not a great fighter, but she's a sweetheart. It lead me to investigate the VVS aircraft more closely, and now I'm having a blast in the Yak.
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That's why I fly Red in here..well really blue is red but you know what I mean.( can we fix that..red should be Russian and blue German..wait I just confused myself I think.) I take the underdog every time. So I started to love the dump truck..err Lagg-3 and the IL2 as well. The Lagg can do just about anything..well it can't carpet bomb, but almost anything else.
pilotpierre Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Gotta luv de LaGG3, I just keep coming back to it.
Finkeren Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) As a LaGG pilot myself (part time, I fly a lot of different aircraft based on the mission/mood I'm in) I just can't shake the feeling, that the LaGG-3 might be a bit like James Joyce's 'Ulysses'. More people claim to have read it than have actually done so, and many of those who did read it enjoyed it less than they say they did. When I fly in MP (which happens rarely as of late - the daily grind you know) I usually see 2 Yaks for every LaGG and perhaps 1.5 La-5s for every LaGG, as well as 1.5 LW fighters for every VVS one. Btw: I haven't read 'Ulysses' and don't plan to, but I really do fly and enjoy the LaGG most of all the planes in BoS Edited October 30, 2014 by Finkeren

Finkeren Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Reminds me of Mark Twain's definition of a "classic" novel Thanks, I keep telling people, that the LaGG belongs in the Hall of Fame among the 'classic' Allied fighters of WW2 along with the Spitfail, Hurrypain, Mustard and Blunderbolt, but noone listens 1
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Little typo in your post Finkeren, I'm sure you meant the Lagg-3 belonged to the hall of fame of german airkills along other allied fightets Still an enjoyable plane to fly. Pretty accurate and deadly with proper aim Edited October 30, 2014 by [Jg26]5tuka
