3instein Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Hi guys, I mostly always fly the Yak, I just noticed just now that when I trim the aircraft and the tab goes upwards, the plane flies down, and when the tab is downwards the plane flies upward. Surely it should work the other way round, like the elevator in principle but with an obviously smaller effect on the aircraft? I just automatically assumed that when the trim tab was in the up position it would, as like the elevator make the plane go upwards. Have I got it all wrong? Thanks, Mick.
HansHansen Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 The trim tab in up position pushes the whole elevator control surface down, lifting the tail thus pushing the nose down
3instein Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 The trim tab in up position pushes the whole elevator control surface down, lifting the tail thus pushing the nose down AH, that makes sense now, I wasn't seeing any movement on the elevator, therefore I wasn't getting how this was possible. Thanks pal. Mick.
