Why do I need to be online to play the campaign?

Just askin'. The single player / offline content is a bit anemic as it is. Why make it moreso?

What they say is that the campaign missions are generated server side and then made available on your system. So the campaign mission templates that are used to generate the missions themselves in theory can be changed, modified, enhanced, etc. as development goes along.

Ok, I can accept that. I just object in general to programs that require me to be online unless there is some tangible benefit to me. Usually there isn't.
