Cognac Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Just started the first campaign. Not a huge fan of being forced to log so many hours in SP, but I digress. Why are the pilot aids all on by default? In quick mission, I get the option of selecting which aids I want in a menu. But in campaign, no difficulty menu exists. Just an option of beginner or expert. What am I missing? Do I have to turn off each aid using hotkeys from the cockpit?
chris455 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 No. Just select "Expert" prior to the missions. If it's the HUD, technochat, mini-map or other things you are referring to, these can be disabled in Settings.
Cognac Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 So can I ditch the HUD only and keep the minimap? Also, I figured out that I need to turn off the Auto RPM limiter, Auto mixture and Auto other crap each time I start a mission! So there's no way to turn these off permanently other than going full expert, which also takes away the map?
chris455 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 In SP you only need to adjust these settings once. They will be retained for all future SP missions. In Campaign mode, you select Expert or Normal. I am not sure what you mean by "takes away the map". If you choose to hide the mini-map, that is one thing. The full screen map ("O" Key) is always available. Try flying a few campaign missions and don't be influenced by those that have complained so loudly about them. They're actually enjoyable.
