so your first time launching or your first update? because I had no issues. Steam version or PC, your specs and settings in the launcher would really help us out on diagnosing your issue.

PC Specs:
i7 920 / 3ghz
10GB ram
Windows 7HP/  64 bit
AMD Radeon R9 200 Series 3GB

I have no idea what you mean with my 'settings in the launcher'

I'm on steam, bought the game few hours ago, wanna play - Said it needed an update (New update just landed after I finished installing, figures ) I do the update and start the game, launcher shows up, I allready made my account, activate it with the code, did the whole thing (thats not it)  and then Press Enter, the big green thingy. It says "please wait" and stays on the please wait thing.

I did the steam files verify thing, all files verified. I turned off my virus thing. No change, still wont launch. I keep staring at the 'please wait' thingy and the loading cursor. Offline. Online. Doesn't matter. I don't get in the game.

I'm experiencing the same problem as topicstarter.

When pressing the big green ENTER button, the cursor keeps loading and nothing happens..the message in the top of the screen is "Please wait"..

Steam and graphic drivers are up to date, license key is submitted.

did you do a reboot, what OS are you using?

I have the same issue with Steam version. Bought it an hour ago..can't login. I've activated the game but it just freezes to "please wait"  when trying to login. It doesn't matter whether you do it online or offline.

The cursor moves, but it doesn't load to game. Just stays in the log in screen. Also the background animation keeps playing.

*edit. Did a reboot. Have tried to launch the game five times already..

mmm did you go to the customer service side of the forums your issue may be login issue?

For me it seems to be a server side issue.

I looked at the FAQ, and this does not say anything about the game just hanging in the log in room. It says something about activation, which I had already done correctly. Also as said, this doesn't even start to offline mode currently.

Moreover, I do not understand why you would paste the system requirements when obviously my specs are fine, and the game is launching. It's just not getting past the log in screen where it stays..

Edit. I appreciate the help. However, I'm getting frustrated here as I've paid for the game and would like to try it at some point..

I have also posted a ticket of this problem.

The part where it has 3GB of video ram should have been your clue that... being 300% greater than the minimum card listed, even without knowing specifics, it's hell and gone better than the minimum.

In reality, the R9 series is Radeons current flagship GPU, and this configuration is plenty to run ultra.  http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

This is my screen...

I have to close it by taskmanager because the cursor isn't doing anything.

Mine doesn`t even get that far, I press Play , the screen goes black...and launcher fails. Worked fine before today.

I'm having exactly the same problem, and I'm also suspecting it's a server-side problem. GTX670MX/3GB, 16GB physical memory, Win8.1, i7, all well within the system requirements.

Turn Sweet FX off if you`ve got it on, it worked for me. Game started after I disabled Sweet FX.

I have the exact same problem, as illustrated in NLJuno2's screenshot.

How do I turn off Sweet FX? Might as well try that I guess.

I bought the game today. So far haven't been able to play it. I tried rebooting. I'm running Win 8.1, and my specs should easily meet the requirements (Core i5 4670K, Radeon HD 7870, 16 GB RAM).

Thanks for the advice; won't help in my case though ... I don't even know what Sweet FX is, yet alone am I using it ... ;-)

Dude , try low settings? Why?! Why is that card an Issue?

Why should I change the settings to low? Its an awesome card, way over the requirements, and how do I change the settings? I cant even get in the game? It won't launch, you get that right?

Allright, i'll break the lack of response and silence with an update about this thing.

I'm on the steam forums and one of the devs are on it.

"You figured out the issue?"

"Working on it. It's smth that has never happened before but we're on it. I'll keep you informed"

"Allright, thanks man, appreciate the effort :) "

Sweet FX is a free add on that makes the graphics look a lot better, there are profiles on the net for BoS. I`ve had it before where a program that worked happily using it stopped doing so after an update , Rise of Flight .
