The images on DCS forum were removed but boy do they look the part.

It's looking as good as the Ju87 cockpit on BoS update   Lets face it

mates, we're in for a great 2014

Happy to say I've backed them both..

Indeed.

109 WIP cockpit shots are really nice. P47 cockpit was announced to be at a similar stage of development and similar shots will follow in the backer forums after KS is over.

I don't think that there is any room for doubt left about the feasibility of this project. It almost made it to 150K, so the 262 will also be included at release.

Less than 24 hours to go.

Posted

Now that it is almost certain that the 262 will be included the $40 pledge will increase its value.6 aircraft at DCS level for only $40 its a no brainer for me.

With DCS 150K nearly over the line now would be a good time to "pledge" for BoS, might be too late before long. Anyway I pledged at $50 for the Alpha Tier 1 thingymajig, do I get the 262 , I think I do???

Ps If only he`d posted that video first, would have put a lot of potential pledgers fears to bed, we might be looking at 250k+ now imo

We get 'all flyable aircraft' at the $40 level, so yes, you get the 262. :)

I think kickstarter and Paypal combined is now at least 149000, so that 262 is done deal in that sense. Now just have to hope that they can deliver everything as planned. I do have high hopes, that this time next year we will have not one but two good sims more to enjoy

Looking very good indeed. It looks as though Second World War combat flight simulators do still have a future. Now that has to be good news. :)

Hate to carsh an ongoing party but pleas do remember what Ilya pointed out earlier:
-Firstly, PayPal withholds about 5% of the total;
-Secondly, the amount shown is pledges, not charged until after the campaign ends, while there are always some pledges that do not go through for one reason or another which may knock off some the total.

While there is also the the KS fee it will be taken into account and so won't influence anything.
However, there is need of some slack to account for uncharged credit cards which is dicey to estimate in advance, like e.g. consider one or two of the bigger pledges that would not pan out and there you go ...
However Ilya makes himself strong to find a way to do the Me.262 even if say 5% of the backers' cards do not go through.

So when KS is petering out in it's very last hours P E L E A S E  do not start decreasing or cancelling your pledges in the belief the stretch goal is reached!
That might snowball and end up pulling the whole below the 150K.
Something like that on top of some credit cards that do not go through in the end may have a serious impact on the total KS contribution.
So pulling back or decreasing you pledge only because you think it is no longer needed may prove to be a rather bad idée, so please don't.

Aaaaaaaaaaand, we reached 150K. Bam.

It seems to be going to right direction atm. Doesn't seem like too many have started withdrawing their pledges.

Give it time mate. I'm sure that there will be a few saboteurs.

It's now about 1800$ on the safe side. One thing I found interesting is that number of backers is quite a lot larger than what I thought it would be just few days ago. It looked like it would reach something like 1800 but now it's about 500 more than that. Ofc there is a number of those 1$ pledgers, but still. And when we are on the subject, number of founders in BoS is looking better and better all the time, it was 2980 just a moment ago.

The 109 cockpits were very 'Work In Progress' I guess that's one of the reasons for the backers only. Still there are a few hours to go and I expect they were put on limited release to firm up peoples commitment and encourage them to stand by their pledges.

That 262 would be fairly cool and give me (at least) a reason to try out for the blue team!

I'm kind of annoyed about the backer's only viewing of the 109 pit. From the videos I've seen, the graphics have been really unimpressive by today's standards - like original IL2 level at best -  which has put me off wanting to back it.

Then the terrain engine video resparked my interest because it looks alright and they've done something which all sims should do: empower the community's creativity.

I'm still a possible $40 backer but I need to see that it's going to be a modern looking sim like IL2 BOS not some mediocre looking but technically excellent sim.

By the way, a big part of the decision is the level of accuracy. I have DCS A-10. Will DCS WW2 really model warbirds to the same "study sim" degree? If so and if the graphics are going to be more like IL2 BOS then I'll be in. I just need some confidence in that before handing over the $40.

Thanks for your responses. I'm sure there are others who are in the same position...

The level of modelling are said to be the same as the P51 on all aircraft, thus it's a "study sim" level on all of them.

The damage modelling are worked upon to get it up on par since the original damage modelling were for BVR
jet fighting and thus didn't have the need for the itty bitty details of close quarter dogfighting.

EDGE is still in the works but coming along nicely AFAIK and ED has posted that with it will be improved netcode and
multi-player capabilities.

The mission designer in DCS world is quite good I'm told but I haven't used it so I really don't know ;)

But since you get ALL flyable for a $40 pledge that level is a no brainer anyway you see it

Another question: Will there be an AI B-17 in the initial release? Just a few hours before the kickstarter finishes and I really want to want this. Getting there.

Yes Ai B-17 will be on board. And most likekly will becoma flyable some time later.

Good stuff yesterday, the early Me109 cockpit renders look awesome, It's a shame this pace couldn't have been maintained all through the month but anyway.

Great to see 150k being reached.

Well hell. After much personal deliberation and with some positive updates from the developers, I guess it is time to contribute. Besides I'm really enjoying the P-51.

Thats a good decision, I think, Rjel! :)

I ended up backing it to $40. I sure hope the visual fidelity ends up as good as the technical.

I think you should take off the tin foil hat Dutch, it doesn't look good on you mate. :)

Though the post did remind me of this....

Trust me they look better than anything on the market or anything that will be on the market in the near future :)

Another 40$ backer now here. I just had to see those K4 cockpit shots, now i'm happy.

Above 153,000 and 2300+ backers: a resounding succes and fantastic support by the flight sim community.

Posted (edited)

I think BoS and DCS WW2 will be right up there in terms of graphics, but will they be better than CloD which imo is beautiful. When CloD level is exceeded we`ll be in visual heaven.

What does the in the near future part of this mean?

I am reliably informed that he is completely able to foretell the future, and is also a complete expert on everything. We are lucky to have him with us. :P

Didnt meant to start another flame war.But DCS cockpits CANT be beat right now and unless theres a new ww2 flight sim that I dont know of ,that wont change in the" near future"Im talking specifically about cockpits, so dont take my words out of context guys :)

That'S cool, but that assertion sorely needs pics to back it up, for those of who haven't seen DCS (the BOS side is represented by the Dev Diary).

Go look at the D model Stuka pit on this site and tell me that`s not as good, as far as my eyes can see nothing is on par with Clod at the minute. .

Here you go mate;

And pretty much every switch and dial functions by either mouse click or mapping to hotas or keyboard. :)

Wait for a public update, you dont have to believe me and Im not here to convince anyone as this is not promotion thread. The stuka cockpit did in fact look impressive and on par with Clod,I agree, but even the great cockpits of Clod are inferior to the ones on DCS.But hey, as I said Im not here to convince anyone, if you dont agree with me or dont believe me just ignore me, its just an opinion after all :)

And while I was talking specifically about the WIP 109 pictures, the final level of detail is already public, check the DCS Mustang.

I`ll be glad when the KS campaign is over and succesful, the level of butt kissing is nauseating, I`ve read stuff that any self respecting adult wouldn`t say in a pub, no wonder the outside world think were a bunch of weirdos!!!.

Come on, let's please stop this comparing game - it's boring and unproductive. Isn't it enough to say 'I really like this' without immediately comparing to another product, especially here on that other product's website? I've once heard someone say, the need to compare makes the world poorer. Why not enjoy diversity?

Thanks,
