I think your assumption is correct. Maybe the Paypal amount is added only after the end of the kickstarter campaign. This means that we (maybe) won´t reach the first stretch goal but after adding the Paypal amount will get the Me262 anyway.

The DCSWW2 development has said they have funding to create the free demo, but there was no word where that funding came from, probably a number of sources.    Large kickstarter monies would have allowed them to hire more people to create more  content faster.   They hoped they'd draw from the non community combat sim market, but it appears not much of that happened.   I doubt the 130,000 would let them do any hiring, but it wouldn't hurt either, and wouldn't change the development plan.  People have said the development is poorly managed because they keep changing the business plan.  The business plan hasn't changed, rewards and free aircraft in the demo changed, due to community feedback.   Changing to one free aircraft was necessary so the development could be drawing revenue from "NON Backers" while they created further paid content, during the year or so after the demo is released.  Smart move, but also the only move they had when kickstarter didn't reach any stretch goals.   Making changes aren't a sign a project is poorly managed, not making changes when the situation demands it would indicate problems.

If Im not mistaken a big part of the funding come from ED themselves.And I agree completely with your post Chivas.

I think the Paypal option will remain open after the KS closes. Other KS have done the same, continuing crowd funding via incentives and pre-orders for sale on their own websites. As always Star Citizen is a good example.

I wholeheartedly agree. The changes are positive. Non-backers should receive one flyable aircraft for free just like it is in DCS World. The P47 is a good choice, and maybe 15-20€ for each new fighter and 30-40€ for a new bomber. Now, if we ever saw the B17 developped, it could be as much as 50€ and people would still buy it almost immediately while others would wait for a discount. Just don`t make them discounts too often.

The PayPal pledges are added in lumps 2 times a day, at least that is what i read on the kickstarter.

You are taking this way to seriously... He looks like a loveable geek.. some of my best friends are geeks.. hell I was a geek .. then I turned into a stud.. then the next thing I knew I was pushing 60 and I was an old geek.. and a flight sim geek at that ... so... just what in Sam hill are you talking about? No kidding, on their DCS forum somebody went that far to call IS "a PR clown" ...
Given a chose between the two I sure would go for "Lovable geek" which has something endearing, could even be considered a compliment :biggrin: to me anyway.

Were all flippin geeks. :)  next time your flying your favourite flight sim with TrackR, headset and using your HOTAS and saying 'Roger' on TS ...get your Mrs, partner, GF, parent to take a picture of you, take a good long look and tell me you not a full blown 100% uber geek.

Im getting more and more worried about this game. Agree that changes to the rewards are positive but also kind of seems like they dont understand the market that well or really thought the whole thing through before starting. Lack of promo material ,no website, complicated rewards all spells disorganisation to me. Just hope I have not spent 85s bucks on a backers t-shirt!

We had an absolutely amazing day today, and surprisingly, paypal was not the biggest reason for it at all. Paypal and KS combined, today was the third best day of the campaign, and almost three quarters of it came right here through kickstarter.

If we continue this way tomorrow and Friday, we will have reached our Me.262 stretch goal by the time the campaign ends!

I'd ask this question in the kickstarter forum, you might get a more informed response. Are you using kickstarter or paypal? The package varies between the two.

Okay, $30 will give you all the five flyable aircraft upon the game's release: P-47, Bf109-K4, Spitfire MkIX, P-51D, FW190-D9. $40 would also give the the Me-262, if the stretch goal of $150.000,- funding will be reached.

According to the post Paypal funding of the project will continue after the kickstarter ends and continue until they reach the  $150,000 so that goal actually looks in reach.

I upped my ante by doubling my initial pledge, there is only so much one can do besides crossing one's fingers or pray ...

Soo...I decided after after much forum reading, here, simHQ, EDD, what the heck, in for $40 - go to the Kickstarter page and it shows 1 left on the $75 with the 2 manuals, which had been previously all sold - only 1 left? - couldn't resist... :rolleyes:

I actually pledged there, came here the next day and pre ordered premium.    DCS hasn't let me down yet, and CLOD isn't much of a game, but the ROF developers will probably deliver above and beyond with a real sequel to 1946.

 

The future is looking good for prop sims!

On the kickstarter home page they say

 

 

The money being raised is only a portion of the development budget. The majority of the programming, some aircraft art, and more, are the costs that the team is funding internally. 

 

So I'm not sure if "Internally means ED or maybe it is the developers own money?

Well unless people pull $40,000 at the last minute we've already got the sim, and paypal will continue so the 262 looks good to go.

Thanks for posting the link to the 13th update. That's the sort of thing I wanted to see before I back it (proof of life), so I guess I can back it now just in the nick of time :)

The images on DCS forum were removed but boy do they look the part.

It's looking as good as the Ju87 cockpit on BoS update :biggrin:  Lets face it
mates, we're in for a great 2014 :cool:
