multiplayer seems like a ghost town

I have noticed that every time I go to log in there are always the same 8-10 servers up. Most only have one person in them and all rarely get more than 15 people at a time. With all of the people posting on this forum I feel like there would be way more people online. Am I missing something?

Totally depends on day, time and server. Flew with 19 on the US normal server last night. SYN and the former (future?) Eagles Nest often are over fifty.

Unable to connect at the Syndicate server for me.... :(

Strange, I don't see an "eagles nest" server when I play and I don't recall seeing SYN either though I could be wrong. Am I doing something wrong? I have not been on an online sim since AH2 10 years ago so I'm not sure if there is some type of update i need? I got the game through steam though and it auto updates so I feel like that definitely can't be it.

You know that some people post and rant way more than they fly, right?

Less ranting more playing is needed! ;-)

If that came true the servers would be packed to the brim and would need another 10 servers

We all need to log on to the servers we want to play in, and then sit there for a bit - flying that is (it's does no good to sit on the sidelines, when you're trying to get a fight started). Nobody wants to join an empty server, but they will always be empty if someone doesn't take the initiative.

Usually, when I do this, I will see someone log on, see that only one or two people are flying, and log right back off. A minute or less later, someone else does the same thing. If we all just stayed logged in for a bit longer, getting a small group flying would be no problem. When others see the populated server, they'll join it too.

There are usually plenty of people on Syndicate, enough to have fun anyway.

I'm hoping most people are still just slogging through unlock hell, and that we'll see a resurgence in numbers soon.

There were 15-20 people on Syndicate last night, prime-time US.

Loose Deuce is putting up servers, they have one they are hoping will support 120 players too!

Still waiting on the dserver to see how many other servers pop up.

One thing I will say is that if you really liked the icons in Aces High, you'll want to stick to Normal difficulty servers... Expert servers have no icons... but honestly, once you experience the realism of no icons, you may not ever want to go back.

I still play Aces High, and their engine is (in my opinion) not conducive to iconless play... but IL-BoS is quite the opposite... you really have to be keeping an eye out.

very true! my first time in the expert server was spent getting shot down by planes that i never even saw coming.

Better than mine, which was taxiing into objects and over-revving my engine!

I am one of them... I really don't know when I will finish it. :o:

People become too dependent on icons. They aren't needed in BoS or RoF. Both have excellent rendering detail. The trouble with multiplayer is most of it is on "Normal" settings. In Rise of Flight Expert is dead, which is hard to understand why because the planes hardly have any CEM and they're easy to see and ID. Just like padlockig, icons are a hold over from old PC games with poor resolution. That's one of the big reasons I don't do MP much, I only play Expert.

someone told me on the servers the other night a good way to get around this whole unlock thing is to pick a day where you have other stuff to do and just throw a plane on autopilot and turn the time to 2X and the plane will take care of everything. you just gotta keep checking back to re-up. Not the most honest thing ever but you'll get your unlocks quicker.

also: i'm not sure this actualyl works as i haven't tried it yet.
