Unexploding bombs

Are there some kind of unexploding bombs? A recognized it several times now, in SP campaign as well as in MP, that SC250 and SC500 after a diveattack with a Ju-87 didn't explode or at least, there was no smoke dome. SC70 Wingbombs did exploded after a second approach in low altitude.

Attacked and hitted objects were a trainstation (MP), Artillery, airfieldshelter, supplydepot and bridge (SP).

Or do I something wrong? Diving most time from 2500 to 3000 meters altitude and drop bombs at about 500 meters. Using airbrakes and siren and aftwe dropping, I pull the plane up and turn it slightly over left sight. But can't see smoke dome nore bombrlcrater...

EDIT: used bombmodes I tried was default, contact and 1s delay. All three with the same result.

Maybe the bigger bombs on the Ju 87 need to be armed from the cockpit before drop?

I honestly have no idea.

If You take a look at the options, there is a button assigned to arm or disarm the bombfuse. This works. I tried it.

By default the bombs are armed. Maybe You disarmed them by accident?

I will take a look, if I have a double layed key for it.

Is the panel in the lower right modeled in the Ju-87? It's all the time black and seems to be disabled. Even if I press the key nonaccidentally...

The button is called "Bomb safety switch" I tried this once with the He 111.

When You activate it, the Bombs won´t explode. If You unchosse it, they will.

As I mentioned above, this switch is set to off by default.

Not sure if the Bomb Panel on the Ju 87 is animated properly.

On a related note. Having 'dud' bombs and rockets in BoS (at a random chance of some 5% or something) would be grand as well.

S!

Currently the bomb indicators do nothing in game neither do the selection levers, at least in German planes. I only know I have a bomb under my Bf109G-2 because I took it in Plane setup and the armament panel appears in the cockpit. But there is no indication by light or anything else that it is hanging there or visual que if I do alter the settings. Fro example Bf109 has the option to select dive and level bombing for the fuzing, but how would I know when the button does not move at all? In bombers you see the bombs in your bombsight as green lights, but planes that had their indicators in their cockpits show nothing. Kind of strange.

The delay fuse in seconds is after the bomb hits the ground or after I dropped them?

After they hit the ground.

But thinking about it, would be nice if you could use them as air burst weapons and drop them on a formation of He 111.

After hitting the ground.

I had made several tries, now. With Siren and without. With default, contact, 1 second and 2 second delay and still I can't see explosions from my bombs in the ground. =/

My buddy has had this problem occasionally - only with Ju-87 and He-111 when carrying large bombs (1000 Kg+).  Most notably one dropped onto a frozen river near a bridge.  There was a big plume of snow/ice...then no explosion.  The others were over land.  I figured maybe the bomb had gone under water and this muffled its explosion.  The ones over ground don't make sense.

However we'll take a look at the bomb fuse switches.

This may be a little off topic, but with the delayed fuse, the bomb is suppose to penetrate for an example, a building/armor, then explode for max damage. Does that happen in this game, or do they just bounce off?

With He-111 and standard payloads I have no problem. Didn't try SC-1000 or bigger yet. The issue only appears at all variants of bbombs (SC70, SC250, SC500) with the Ju-87. The surface of impact doesn't matter. I can't see an impact, nor an explosion on land or frozen river...

@Silky: I have no clue for that...

I have experienced this bug also - while using 'contact' and 'default' fuse timer as well.

It has happened to me three times - with three different load outs - all of these times it was in SP. Luckily every time I've flown in MP it has worked perfectly. I will try to do some more experimenting tonight to see if I can duplicate the bug with a certain load out/configuration.

Hehe...

Just solved the problem today. I was reinstalling completely clean and recognized, that everything was fine. Then I copy pasted my inputs settings and it started again. I checked the control settings the third or fourth time, just to recognize this time, that I set 'toggle bomb safe switch' and 'drop bombs' were double selected. I'm not sure if it happened because of an update or if I had set it wrong. But I tend to say, that it was my fault.

:D sometimes...
