Cybermat47 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Here's a plane I'd love to see: Germany's best dive bomber! It entered service in 1936, and left service in 1945, serving as a trainer after nine years of front-line service. It saw action over Stalingrad in the service of 7./SchlG 1. It was armed with two MG 17 machine guns, but could be modified to use two MG/FF cannons. It carried 450kg of bombs on its wings. It was used on the Eastern front by the Germans and Spanish. 6
Foobar Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The Henschel Eins-Zwo-Drei I really would like to see her in the game. When she was diving towards you the propellor was sounding like MGs.
JtD Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 To my knowledge, it carried up to 280 kg of bombs under its wings. It also had an internal bomb bay for very small bombs and that was it. 450kg seem to be a popular myth, as the central rack was there for a drop tank only. 1

My mistake, I got the info from Wikipedia,
ImPeRaToR Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Does anyone have good/high-res blue prints?
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 It seems like 777 could probably sell more virtual Hs 123s than were actually built!
AX2 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 (edited) Some "Quotes" (Google Translator ) I must say, Bf109E-4 / B and Hsl23 against Hsl29B Ju87 and looked in the battles of Stalingrad pretty good, mainly due to its greater "flexibility" and balance of flying and combat skills: ability to perform the attack as a dive at large angles, and at an extremely low height. As a rule, providing his attack ground troops, the German crews in groups of 25-30 aircraft and more than almost continuously "hung" over the Soviet combat formations. Pilots "worked" mainly on call, doing a day to 5-6 sorties. Attacks Ju87B performed from a height of 2000-3000 m with a dive at an angle of 60-80, dropping bombs from a height of 700-1000 m by machine-gun, artillery positions, trenches, anti-aircraft firing points, etc. at a distance of 200-300 m in front of their tanks. Beats dive "Junkers" successfully complement fighter-bombers Bf109E-4 / B, Bf110C-4 / B and Hsl23A, which groups of 20-25 aircraft attacked the positions of the Red Army to dive altitude of 800-900 m and strafing with machine-gun fire and antipersonnel bombs. Cueing the German pilots were given guidance officers who are at the forefront of tanks equipped with radio communication. Slower Hsl23, in contrast to the "Messerschmitt", had excellent maneuverability at the ground and was able to build a very intense maneuver in the vertical and horizontal planes, which, in addition to reducing the accuracy of calculations of anti-aircraft fire, and provided the best conditions for aiming and firing of small arms and cannon armament. In addition, "Henschel" air-cooled engine had a very robust design aircraft could swoop down to 60 ° C and withstand even direct hits flak. The best results "Henschel" and "Messerschmitt" shown in attacks from a dive in the absence of a strong fighter and anti-aircraft fire cover combat formations of enemy troops. The most impressive at the "Henschel" was not so much weaponry as the psychological effect of the roar of the engine and the sounds produced when a dive. The commander of the 4th WF Colonel-General von Richthofen, January 16, 1943 came out with a proposal to continue the assault equipment polutoraplanom Hsl23 air groups and to this end, to resume its serial production. The ability to "work with" short unprepared sites and "skill" of the "Henschel" perform a dive attack using bombs caliber, and with an extremely low altitude machine-gun fire or small fragmentation bombs, according to the general, were precisely those qualities needed aircraft battlefield in the circumstances battles on the eastern front. With a decent maneuverability at low altitudes, with the engine air cooling and a solid metal structure, one hundred twenty-three "Henschel", despite the absence of a strong reservation, showed high combat survivability on the front. For example, the average raid on a combat loss of Hsl23 Sch.Gl in May-June 1942 amounted to about 78 sorties, which is almost 2 times higher than that of figure for a fighter-bomber Bf 109E-4 / B, and approximately 4 times - for armored Hsl29B. JG1_Pragr Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Both Henschel's close air support planes I'd love to see in the game. Sometimes in future, of course. I only hope we will see right environment for such planes. The biggest issue of games like Il-2, CLoD and RoF is they are focus on air to air fights particularly. In such a kind of game, every ground support plane is target drone mostly.
ImPeRaToR Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Does anyone have good/high-res blue prints? Bump...
Foobar Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I'm pretty sure that 1CGS already have all required data and references. If not - and they're willing to build them - they will ask us. 1
