Heywooood Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Best news a flight sim enthusiast could hope for !! Hellyea merging 777 with the IL2 legend - woohoo Smart move Jason - go ahead and count on my dollars boys
76SQN-FatherTed Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I don't see why this shouldn't benefit RoF - economies of scale and so on - so this has to be the way forward for our hobby, and I'm really glad it's come to pass.
Catseye Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 S! Jason and the entire team. I'm glad to be onboard with this "merger" and will look forward to reading about its progress and the ability to offer input when required. I'm certain that there is a lot of dust in the air right now and the unfolding of the universe has begun. Best to you all! Cats . . . .
carts Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 One happy camper here!Good luck with the new project
skarden Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Yep good luck with this endevour Jason and team, I've no doubt we're all in for some damn good simming to come in the future. Fantastic news.
JG1377 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Another happy customer here, I enjoy rise of flight, graphics on high, tree collision, anti aliasing, can't wait to see what you guys got planned for ww2 aviation, best of luck :D
HippyDruid Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 This is really good news. Congratulations.
Rjel Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) I'm all for leaving the darkness of the last year behind. Here's hoping for a brighter simming future. Good luck. Edited December 12, 2012 by Rjel
clayman Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 ALL RIGHT!!!! Congratulations to the team, what a great email to come home to. Jason .... you continue to amaze me, more than all those years ago when I called GoGamer one day about a delivery and you offered to drop off it (1946) that evening on your way home. RoF is so beautiful, it's evolution and marketing so stunning .... I can't wait to see BoS IL2 lives on.
MadDogVonDepner Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Good Luck guys we await the new game It should be huge
Guest Screamadelica Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Did everyone make it over here in one piece? Nice to see you again Tree. Good luck to the 777 Team on the new project.
TWC_TWC_SLAG Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I have read a few complaints about the RoF engine: cartoon planes, scenery, etc. i have no problem with the RoF scenery or clouds. I get the impression that RoF was purposely given an "Olde World" look, just as CoD has a "1940's" look about it. I'm betting 777/1C will be able to give us a "WWII" look to BoS. I'm going to take a wait and see attitude until I see some samples of what a 777 WWII plane looks like. Just because 777 made a SPAD look like it came out of the early 20th century doest't mean a Me-109F would have that same look. Binky9
JG4_Sputnik Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Good luck at 777 and 1C. I'm so stoked right now, the best x-mas gift ever Can't wait untill the realease!I know we won't be all satisfied but knowing that you guys are trying your best is all I can ask for.

They do have kind of the "same feel" but they are, contentwise, entirely different games. Some of them have vehicles included and are third person, others are 1s person with no vehicles. I hope the RoF engine is similar tweakable and they'll get the ww2 feeling right.
FlakBait Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Hi Jason, I just wanted to wish you and your crew the best of luck with this new venture. While I know this project is going to follow a different path than many had been expecting and hoping for, it???
FlakBait Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Hiya Jedders, and I sincerely hope there is a better selection of bombers this time around!
hiro Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) Just hoping they'll milk everything out of that engine and deliver the high expectations the IL-2 series has laid out. With everyone working together and most of all, a love for flight simming WW2, will make the awesomeness and a good product. Edited December 12, 2012 by hiro
SYN_Jedders Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Watchman, remember those big Russian bombers?...class fun in ADW. Multicrew bombing is fantastic online and Im sure this will be well represented in BoS. Cant wait!. I notice THOR and the DBS (Dedicated Bomber Squadron) are lurking around here now. When those guys enter a server you can guarantee some huge flights of organised bombers!.
Pollux Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Now all the hopes of the community simmeurs WWI and WWII rests on your shoulders ... Good luck with this new adventure...
Malone Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 i am very excited about this forum and the development news, and wish all those involved the very best in getting it off the ground successfully. will definitely pop in to the forum occasionally to check on things - good luck to all, again, and thanks be that there seems to be some people out there who are willing to invest in our obsessions... :D
FlakBait Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Yes Jedders, a PE-8 with a FAB 5000. (Musroom cloud included). Makes my eyes water just thinking about it.
Phat Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Hi All !~ This is Hilton (aka FS_Phat), one of the moderators from 1C forums just stopping by to say congratulations to Jason, Alexander and the rest of the respective team members from both 1C IL2 and 777 ROF. I think this partnership is the best thing that could have happened for the survival of this genre (Hi-Fidelity Flight Combat Simulation) and the IL2 & ROF brands, in what is a difficult time for software developers and publishers, especially in this genre! We're well and truly in the age of digital distribution, consumer choice and the shorter attention spans that brings. I think it's akin to the age that the record companies and artists of music and movies went through in the last 10 years, transforming from CD retail distribution to MP3's, itunes and even direct digital distribution and the like. 1C and the IL2 brand had to evolve and 777 now have a significant partner to work with and back them up in 1C. (not to mention all the great assets they'll get access to now!) I really look forward to seeing the combined efforts of some of the smartest and most passionate people in the flight sim business! See you in the skies! Hilton. (FS_Phat)
LG1.Farber Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) I really do wish the new colaition good luck! I really hope everything goes well and that fans from both camps are well and truely impressed with the results. Its seems right now we are all locked in a triangle, future CFS's, RoF & IL2 teams and the CFS communiy. Just dont forget that! March or die... Edited December 14, 2012 by 5JG27Farber
whatnot Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Good of luck, make it as great as it's predecessor was! Funny how there was one blog posa long while saying that this would happen and after all the cheers, cries, denials and radio silence here we are: living in the middle of the rumor that the blog post started.
