Dont take out your mission target before you get the arrive at action point

Just took out the whole train with engine with a PE2. I saw the smoke in the distance and headed for it. After taking it out the "you have arrived at the acion point" popped up but did not get the mission complete message. Nor did I get the "exit point" message when passing through it on the way home.

 

Nor did I see any additional ground or air activity on the way home.

 

Landed and received some insignificant points for the train and the AAA on it, but no mission, take off or landing points.

 

I am assuming the "arrived at the action point message is the trigger for all the things to happen that didn't in this case???

you sure you took out the right Target. because I do this all the time and didn't have an issue like yours.

I had a similar issue (although with an intercept mission) - mission completed at action point, crossing exit point, no message. I even circled at the exit point for a while, but the message would not appear. Since I got that message in the past there seems to be a bug that managed to creep in.

There was only one train on the line.

 

The real pisser was the next mission though. Achieved everything and was half way between the exit point and the home field when I got the (now) dreaded BoS has stopped working for the 4th time since the last 2 weekday updates.

This happened to me when I bombed the wrong bridge. Apparently, the target was the "other" bridge beside it.

It's strange, the stage of the flight you are considered it is determined by your AI buddies, not you. So when you get that wonderful bug where your AI buddies refuse to takeoff, it's impossible get credit for the mission.

 I refuse to escort Stukas in the campaign. They just have a deathwish. First they do dive bomb their targets and sometimes even finish them off so I see the "Task completed" on screen. But then 1-2 has the brilliant idea of killing AAA on an airfield nearby. Needless to say they get thrashed. Drop the bombs and get out, do not try to be a hero in that plane! Frustrating to escort them. He111's are better in that matter, but fly so low that the 40mm AAA tears them apart in short order.
