Final thoughts prior to release

I want to take my hat off to the devs.  They are squeezing out a damn nice product, on a limited budget, in a pretty short amount of time, keeping us informed along the way.  This early access approach is new, at least for me, and in my opinion has been a success.  The devs have addressed issues brought up from members of the community, even lately concerning FM details for example.  As with anything, there is never total agreement by everyone on all items, that is to be expected.  I'm sure, like any software product, there will be the normal amount of rough edges even at final release that need to be addressed and I have faith they will be.  That being said however, and this is maybe the most important aspect of the final release soon upon us, the quality of this sim at release, compared to the state of other sims at their release, stands heads and shoulders above any flight sim I have ever owned in terms of stability, graphic quality, etc.  Also, IL2 BOS at release, stands to be ahead of other flight sims in many aspects, although these others have had years to mature.  Finally, this sim will also mature to levels that may surprise many of us.

Secondly, I want to thank all the members of the community that have the technical expertise to assist the devs on their own time in advancing the scope in the sim, as with the additional map, or the questioning of accuracy of certain aspects of aircraft, etc., or the implementation of the mp servers.  These are areas where I do not have the knowledge or expertise to help, yet I, and many in the community, directly benefit.

I also think the forum moderators have done a fairly good job during the past couple of weeks when things hit the fan.  I had posts locked or deleted on the forums as well but they were doing what needed to be done.  Although I have been vocal about the unlock system I hope it is understood that my suggestions for change came from the fact that I like this sim and I want the best for it.

Cheers and good hunting!

'Final Thoughts Prior to Release'?

Deja Vu.

There's been a WW2 air combat title released within the past decade as complete and well running as this?

Original Il-2 was released in 2001 that was still totally incomplete compared to BoS and didn't run very well plus had no campaign and no dedicated server  MP and well just sucked in comparison to BoS, so anything after is additional work with additional years which makes it a nonpoint and silly to mention. And CloD was a fucking disaster. Any Deja Vu is an outright dishonest lie just because you have some sad axe to grind.

I agree with OP.

Best of Luck to 777/1C

Looking forward to a bright future with this product.

I've been given a go on the campaign the last week, and I am very impress with some of the details. I've dogfight in a snow storm and get back with visual range upside down with seconds to spare the crash. I have seen some man running into the snow, research light getting on or landing flare's. It is perfect? No, neither that I expect it to be but so far, visually at the least BoS have exceed my expectations, and I am convince that they will tweak the rest.

Great job guys  :good:

No there has not...  This is indeed quite an accomplishment.
