Poor Menu Interface Performance On Low End Machines

Recommended Posts

Due to my main computer deciding it's going to blackscreen every time I run a 3D application, I've re-appropriated an older machine that plays the game acceptably well on low settings.

The problem is that the menu interface is horrendously laggy... the mouse cursor has a significant delay, and it takes an inordinate amount of time just to set up a campaign mission.

Once I am into the game, however, it still looks very good for the low settings/no antialiasing.

My wife's computer (with a GTX 280 FTW edition) has the same issue, again only within the menu screens.

My new machine is due here at the end of this month, and I am going to buy her a GTX 970 before release as well, but I wanted to bring the issue up as had I not been forced to used a lesser machine I would never have noticed it.

I think it would be in the best interest of the game at large to look into making low settings apply changes to whatever is making the menu run like balls.

Thanks!

same problem here, low end pc, laggy menu

I had the same problem.

It got better when changing the graphic card settings to "use application settings"

It ended when upgrading my graphic card.

Same story here, waiting to upgrade my PC but can still play fine on low settings. Menu is frustrating though and the aircraft in the hangar lags more than my in-game performance.

Change the prerendered frame to 1 in the Nvidia panel, worked for me :)

Awesome, I will give it a shot!

I am not sure why, but their GUI menu  in BOS works they heck out of a graphics card.

Same here, it slaughters older cards like the one I am currently using.  I dunno if it's the dude in the back with the arc welder, or just the total number of polys, but "Low" graphics settings should have a different hangar than the higher ones.

They still need to fix this before the game goes live... simply getting rid of the menu eye candy on low settings should do it.
