indiaciki Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) Besides BOS... Edited October 21, 2014 by indiaciki
javelina Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 CloD, DCS, RoF... have FSX, but haven't touched it in over 2 years.... You forgot BMS Falcon, fly that one too.... 2
Nil Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Needs to me a multiple question! As I fly DCS, ROF and old IL2:1946 just as much little at the moment :/ 2
indiaciki Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) I also fly RoF and fsx for IFR but I voted DSC since I fly it most now. Please, just vote for the one you enjoy and fly most of the time right now. Needs to me a multiple question! As I fly DCS, ROF and old IL2:1946 just as much little at the moment :/ We all fly most of the sims. Just choose the one you enjoy most today. Edited October 21, 2014 by indiaciki
Baldric Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 For combat flight sims I fly more BOS than anything, but other than BOS I currently fly more DCS than RoF, CLoD, BOBII, WOFF. For flight sims it's currently FSX(AirHauler).
Requiem Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 FSX, Cliffs of Dover, and DCS for me. I envisage DCS getting a bit more playtime than usual since I picked up the Sabre over the weekend though.
indiaciki Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Please tell me about the sabre. I bought the 21 and the huey right now. I have no experience flying jets or choppers. DCs is amazing. I didn't fly it until last week. I thought it was some lock-on jet fighter air.to air misslse thing.
Requiem Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Please tell me about the sabre. I bought the 21 and the huey right now. I have no experience flying jets or choppers. DCs is amazing. I didn't fly it until last week. I thought it was some lock-on jet fighter air.to air misslse thing. I only have a couple of hours max in the Sabre at the moment, but it is a thing of beauty.
[TWB]80hd Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I just re-subbed with Aces High (www.hitechcreations.com) the graphics are like 15 years old, but it's still fun in the big fights.... not heavy on the "sim" part though the planes are well modeled. 1
9./JG27golani79 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Mostly DCS and from time to time CloD
J2_Trupobaw Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) RoF primarily. CloD SP is my off-line reserve, I keep it for times when my ISP fails me. I hoard DCS modules, but I rarely am rested enough to dedicate time to learing them. X-Plane for when I feel like sightseeing. Still waiting to see what hatches from IM. Please tell me about the sabre. I bought the 21 and the huey right now. I have no experience flying jets or choppers. DCs is amazing. I didn't fly it until last week. I thought it was some lock-on jet fighter air.to air misslse thing. Sabre is a beauty - like Requiem, I've spent just one evening with her, but what evening it was .Other DCS jets I have (A-10C and Flaming Cliffs ones) pretty much fly themselves, difficulty lies in using their multiple on-board electronic systems and displays to pursue your mission and keep tactical awareness; when it comes to flying they just do what you want, almost like a flying carpet. This may be realism rather than undermodeling; I imagine modern jets may be streamlined / powerful enough to effortlessly perform any maneuver a WW1/WW2 sim pilot can come up with, without a feeling it might not work due to stall / ripping off wings / whatnot.Anyway, this is not the case of Sabre; the stick and rudder experience is much stronger and more challenging than in modern jets, and the cockpit panel has classic instruments that a Spitfire pilot would be able to figure out . OTOH, it's much more powerful than WW2 planes like P-51 or Dora, can go at speeds and pull off maneuvers that would rip prop fighters apart. It all adds to a very intensive experience. Sokol1 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Pool actual numbers indication: Most "Virpilot" are only "piloting" forums. 1
KodiakJac Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Almost equally IL-2 1946, CFS3, DCS, RoF, WOFF and to a lesser extent CloD for the the BoB period.
Emgy Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) F4 BMS is the best combat flight simulation of a modern dynamic warzone, with proper MP implementation. 3d clickable cockpit, in-game radio voice comms. Edited October 22, 2014 by Calvamos 2
Trooper117 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I fly four of the games on your list, all equally... BoS is probably the game I fly least! You also missed out WoFF...
snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 we can't multi check ? too difficult to choose only one. sorry I can't do that ! grab them all ! mostly DCS (recent inlove) CLOD ( 680 hr inflight at this time ) FSX i used to, for a long time from FS95 untill last year . but not a lot anymore you missed Aerofly FS. https://www.google.fr/search?q=aerofly+fs&espv=2&biw=1536&bih=766&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=rf1HVO3QOtfaavfjgeAD&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg
Chuck_Owl Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Please tell me about the sabre. I bought the 21 and the huey right now. I have no experience flying jets or choppers. DCs is amazing. I didn't fly it until last week. I thought it was some lock-on jet fighter air.to air misslse thing. I fly every DCS module and I can tell you that the Sabre is a real blast to fly. Dogfighting in it is quite an experience: trying to yank the stick when flying at 450 knots will most likely not end well (blackout = 'night 'night). Interestingly enough, you need to be much more careful about the Gs you pull during fights. I learned to use rolling manoeuvers rather than my elevator in order not to black out when the enemy MiG-15s do some fancy manoeuvers... it's a different mindset that you need to have when you're going guns against something as fast as a jet. You lose your guy much more quickly and your reflexes and aiming must be even sharper than with WW2 prop planes. I cannot recommend this plane enough. I didn't know much about the Korean War before I began flying this bird... but now I feel like I've missed a very important part of aviation history. The F-86 is a masterpiece, plain and simple. 1
JimTM Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I fly DCS. I especially love the Huey. I also fly the P-51, Sabre, FW D-9 (Dora), and A-10C. Eagerly awaiting the Me-109K and the rest of the WWII line-up.

JimTM Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Good stuff Indiaciki. If you want to read a great book about a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, pick up Chickenhawk, by Robert Mason. 1
Scarecrow Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Its BOS CLOD and DCS for me. I'm also really into Kerbal Space Program, it is a huge timesink.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 RoF and some bit DCS for me. I used to fly some FSX long time ago though I became pretty much bored of the graphics, physics and tthe still non existing performance you missed Aerofly FS. https://www.google.fr/search?q=aerofly+fs&espv=2&biw=1536&bih=766&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=rf1HVO3QOtfaavfjgeAD&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg While my real love is combat flight sims this one looks very interesting! Strange I didn't come across this earlier. We have a Dr-400 at our airstrip and I must say I'm pretty impressed how accurate it looks. Graphics are nice as well. If it's ever going to be cheaper I might get into civil flying again (always remembering to check six of course )
ST_ami7b5 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 IL-2 1946, DCS, RoF, CloD, WOFF and to a lesser extent BoBII
JG1_Lipfert Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Kameraden, In this order: RoF, DCS, CloD, FSX and SC (BoS on hold for the moment). S!
LuftManu Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I have all of them, but I am flying DCS, Bos is also in Hold
Jaws2002 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) Except Prepar3d, I have all of them. With my playing time shrinking this days I play mostly Clod and DCS. Done right, BOS could easily take the top spot, as i had tons of fun in ROF, but I doubt it will happen. Edited October 25, 2014 by Jaws2002
Guest deleted@30725 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 DCS is really keeping me occupied at the moment, waiting for the next sale though before I buy a few more planes.
Jaeger55 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Unfortunately I will fly anything but BoS soon if the FM of the planes arnt fixed. I'm talking about the nose bounce, rubber band, flying like wild bill kelso thing. I'd like to make this my #1 flight sim but its looking like that isn't going to happen.
Jaeger55 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Good stuff Indiaciki. If you want to read a great book about a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, pick up Chickenhawk, by Robert Mason. Yes , this is a good book. From his flight training to service in Vietnam, it discribes his experiences very well.
Emgy Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) You DCS folks should check out BMS and see what it's like to fly something with a modern, working Air-Ground radar mode inclusive ground moving targets mode etc. But the problem is the UI, especially for online play, is so finicky and byzantine, it requires a video tutorial... the DCS UI is really "pick up and fly" compared to this. But when you're in game the F-16 blk 50/52 is remarkably easy to use. It's free and is a standalone download from benchmarksims.org... well, thanks to Atari's lawyers, the installer requires you to have a falcon4.exe file on your computer. PM me for info on that, if curious. Edited October 25, 2014 by Calvamos
IvanDolvich Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I got interested in flying after having played warthunder and that was not enough. Now I want to get more details of the whole flying-thing
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Why type words when there are videos: Yeah, that video is p.much the best thing ever made for BMS. I really need to Coop that shit.
Trooper117 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 DCS, RoF, WoFF, CLoD, IL2 1946 (heavily modded)... you need multiple options in this thread.
Lusekofte Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I am a admin at 1946SAS , so obviously I fly modded IL2, I fly in a very inactive squad in COD , and I fly offline DCS FW-190. I own all the planes in the matter but is not really interested in them. I am a ground pounder , I like bombers. So currently I fly almost nothing online. In BOS you stand no chance in a bomber, same goes for cod. Radars and high flying hunters make things quite impossible. So I hope for a more organized online flying in future of BOS
denimdemon Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 definitely need multiple options DCS and Falcon BMS for modern day X-plane and FSX for civil aviation ROF and COD depending what era i want to fly there. current favorite of the whole bunch is Mig 21bis so i voted DCS
BladeMeister Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 CLOD and ROF the most with DCS right on their tails and i still fire up IL1946 HSFX and BW for a quick dance here & there. Haven't fired up BOS since the first week after release. S!Blade<><
AndyJWest Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 At the moment, the DCS Huey. Still struggling with getting consistent results transitioning into the hover, but otherwise I'm getting the hang of it mostly. Although my experiment in seeing how fast I could fly backwards resulted in the main rotor detaching entirely.
=LD=Hethwill Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 BoS is sharing time with Storm of War Cliffs of Dover, but at different levels. Left DCS for a while and reserving 1 evening per week for a bit of RoF. Restarted a dyn gen career in 1946 but taking it slowly atm. Overall other activities taking over the "gaming time".
