VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 When level bombing, you set the wind speed and direction for your altitude, and you view the target on approach. You set up the cross hairs in line with the approaching target. When you then switch to auto/manual for the release, the cross hairs jump to the right or left, depending on wind direction and speed. Why is the view not also effected by the wind speed/direction input? Feature or bug? Is this historically correct to bomb sites? Once set to auto/manual there is very little time to trim left or right to bring the target into alignment, especially on manual. I have tried pre-aligning to the left or right of target but it is just a guestimate. Is there a step I am missing to assist with the change from view to auto/manual? An aside. I know this has been mentioned elsewhere but on the short sp campaign level bombing missions the spawn point needs to be further away from the target. There is barely enough time for veterans to make a bomb run, new guys won't stand a chance.
Requiem Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 You're correct in how to use it as a guesstimate to line yourself up early by looking ahead of you. It would be nice to have the view mode also move like the aiming mode though as it would help in lining up the run a bit.
